I wish I still had my old bad gorilla or evil gorilla pedal. That fuckin thing was awesome. Gave it to Ralph(gainfreak) years ago.

Fortin 808, but it that's too pricy, maybe some other TS pedal or MXR GT-OD or Boss SD-1. Latter 2 are some of the best for the price imo. If money were no object klon hands down

I can't say I've tried every boost, but from what I did try, I always preferred the normal Maxon OD808.

Hands down... the Maxon OD808 the green one. Most of the recto guys run the Maxons. Out of all the 808 versions I liked the Maxon OD808 the most.

You can pick up used Maxons fairly cheap.:2thumbsup:
OD808's are a tried and true combo with recto's and 6505's/5150's, but I had borrowed from my friend a real vintage 808 and OD9 and through my Recto's and Badlander I felt the Fortin TS's smoked them hands down (for those amps) and I'm a Fortin hater lol

Dirty Tree is an incredible boost for the Recto.

I also like the Boss GE-7. Great clean boost that you can sculpt just about any way you want.

that's what I used on my old one...and I used an old Ibanez tone lock distortion on my jcm800ZW. worked great.

I have never-ever used an EQ for a boost. seriously. need to try it out.

the guy that modded those bad monkeys...Lordofchaos...was that his name? Quick story-I bought a bad monkey and shipped it to him. It got destroyed in transit somehow. Anyway he replaced it with a new tubescreamer and did a bunch of shit to it. Went above and beyond taking care of me. That's the one I gave away. Monster pedal. Was shocked when they said hs business imploded. Sad.

I love mine. You can boost the signal as much as you need, then you can trim out exactly as much bass as you need to tighten things up but not so much that you sound gets anemic.

That said, specifically talking about Rectos, the Dirty Tree works better with mine than the Boss GE-7. Something about the DT's Treble and Bass controls makes it perfect with the Recto.

I never tried my dirty tree with my recto yet but I will this weekend and report back.
