dude-that is badass....love how you did that led.....looks killer...

dude-that is some nice shit-really....why the fuck have I not heard of you doing these? and what else do you do? changed my fuckin thread title bro....

If your just going to boost lots of pedals will work.
My #1 is the peppers. But you have a micro switch so it’s either on non adjustable or adjustable. I had it on non adjustable for a few days then tried the adjustable ?holy crsp.

You can adjust the frequency. It’s to my ears the best. Tight with that recto growl and a massive low end. Toss a slight delay in there.

Recto nirvana ???

my bro Chris-sdmf38, is loaning me one to try out...some crazy off the chain custom build thing. I need to get down there and give him my guitar to repair. Plus I found a marshall mode four cab I'm picking up also. The mf280...the one with v30's.

lol ..... back when Rig Talk first started I was doing mods on wahs and stuff for fellow members ... then free time became real scarce ... 5 or 6 years ago I changed jobs again .... by then I learned how to use certain PCB fab programs and have my own boards fabricated ... I have other stuff ....maybe I'll post a thread with some of my builds in it ... as far as people hearing about them ... I got to the point of needing videos and decent demos for the stuff ... and I only have so much time ... that's where I kind of hit the wall ... I do only analog circuits .... no battery jacks ... all the parts are as high quality as I can source ... I do all the graphics .... powder coating and I clear epoxy the tops so they look like glass ...

Fortin Grind @11:45, Seymour Duncan
Black Winters, Les Paul Custom Silverburst

or

My number one was a lethal Ken Lawerence Explorer with EMG HetSet, Fortin Grind @11:45, Mesa Boogie Revision F Dual Rectifier,
2nd channel in red mode.
Mesa Boogie 4X12 Rectifier cabinet with EV’s.
Oh shit man,
-that’s a WICKED rhythm sound., just perfect.
The ebony fretboard coupled with that warm/worn
one piece of kick assed chunk of mahogany,
-(that still thinks it’s a tree),
-really oozed a “heavy metal woody feel with a redneck ninja punch in the grunt”).

Nowadays, whenever I boost amps, I seek out pedals with a full 4 to 5 band EQ with a MIDDLE control and a presence control of the some sorts.
Then it’s game on Motherf’ker’s!!!!

The unadjusted part is a Fortin copy when engaged . It’s hard to use for me . But the the TC o with eq rules

mudkiller is not mentioned much but it can great . Not my fav but it’s cool
For my taste I found the MK & DT to have too much of that plastic-y/filtered sound that I don’t care for. I think my Fortin TS’s do too honestly, but less so. I just have trouble dealing with that quality

Integrated preamp and it’s various clones (like the pepers) is my favorite boost with my recto. Works so well with it. Tubescreamer of some kind is a close second but I tune down a lot so just a TS is usually not tight enough for me. An eq with it to cut extra lows works great. So much hype around boutique overdrives but a TS and GE7 and some patience and you can cop their sound 90% of the time.

I have modded various tubescreamers and my favorite one is just a ts9 clone I made on tagboard but with LEDs for clipping diodes (higher forward voltage than 1n4148 diodes so the pedal has higher volume) and a pot in parallel with the 4k7 resistor that forms the low cut. Reducing the total value with a parallel resistance raises the low cut frequency and also increases the gain (so you don’t get a volume drop as the low cut increases). It’s like having a very effective ‘tight’ knob, and all the way up at its tightest setting is almost as tight as the integrated preamp with bass at 0.

ge7 up front with the boost or in the loop?

I like it for when I need that sound . Especially DT . DT knobs are so strong that pedal works best with very low settings

I like using the ge7 in front of the amp to help shape the boost. Not tight enough, pull down the low sliders below 400hz. Need more bite and sharpness, push up 800 to 3.2k sliders. Or just put it after the TS and push up the level if you just need a louder boost.

I changed the opamps in mine to ne5532 for lower noise though, as in the stock form it sounded like a jet engine when in front of the amp.

awesome...learned something new today. actually a couple things but that's another story....
