In 92-3? I had one of the first Racktifierz, awesome amp more warm less fizz then the dozen or so that have come through the studio over the years.. Always wondered about why, then saw internet lore... Having mic'd up a bunch of these .. Those very early ones are the only ones I'd fuck with-- after that the vaccum cleaner and fizz sounds are not fun to negotiate and limit u for a narrow sweet spot.. I know others like them

I have seen good and bad ones from all the eras.... I like the Tremoverb best and prefer the two channel Dual and Triple Solo Head and the Rack mount. What tubes are in them makes a huge difference ....

Don't think Rectifiers are fizzy sounding amps.
I've recorded a few of them in a few different studios and, as long as the player agreed to tweek the amp a little bit I could always get a good sound out of them.
I think it depends more on what cabinet/speaker you're using, what volume you're playing, how do you set the controls and if the amp is service and woking properly(new tubes, etc...).
Here is a clip I've recorded more recently using a Dual Rectifier for both rhythm guitars(one EMG and one Tone Zone hard panned).
I think they're great amps. All types, models and revisions of the Rectifier series.
