Amp ho
I’ve been bored. Quick shootout. Nothing changed in this clip except the amp.

Who ya got and why?

Amp B will cut through the mix more as-is.

I prefer the more-organic tone of Amp A 'though; it's freakin'-excellent, man.

Ha, depends on what you played! But for the most part I preferred amp A. Maybe it's because I'm going back n forth but after listening to amp B I want amp A to have more sizzle but other than that I prefer the overall saturation/voice of amp A.

I prefer B for more clarity and less flubby low end. But sound like is the same amp with different settings.

The extra low end in A makes it more fun to listen to but B would probably be better with a band. Both excellent though. Tell us about the recording process, mic'd cab or IR?

Going 1 min in and without looking at any comments so far my vote is for 'A'. Tighter, less fizzy.

A is a Mark 2C+, B is a Marshall JMP, but with a boost. Both are awesome.

Yep but I wasn't going to spill it.

I liked Amp A quite a bit more. Well done, they both sound great!

Not a C+! :)
It does make sense, if it was a C+ you could have easily bumped up the sizzle slider.

Haha- this is true. The C+ has so much sizzle on tap. I got to crank it today, and I mean CRANK it, and it was just melting my face. I was legitimately in sonic bliss, fat chords were just rolling through my bones as I stood there.

A is Technicolor compared to the black and white tone of #2. They would blend nicely IMO. You could EQ them a little closer but I would still find A a little more fuller in tone and not as raspy.

Great comparison any way you look at it. It's like comparing Metallica albums "Ride the Lightning" and "Master of Puppets" for tonal differences.

Just for the record, I wasn’t trying to make them sound the same. Just set up A to sound good and recorded, then same with B. I could definitely make them sound closer

So this is not your C+ and 800? What do we have here?

He's got an Engl Morse that he dialed in similar to the C+ in another thread so maybe that?
