AMP A is the Bogner Goldfinger Superlead in '81 mode

AMP B is the 1980 Marshall JMP 2203

Both were being pushed by a Maxon OD808

I wasn't trying to make these sound the same, but was capturing how I've been setting each one up lately. Similar vibe, slightly different flavors.

The Bogner can definitely be dialed to be a lot more like the JMP if desired, in 77 mode. Less bass and more kids and cut in that mode for sure. But again, was just recording each amp the way I’ve been playing them lately. That over the top tone in 81 is so damn fun

The Marshall shows its winning colors in that chordal stuff towards the end. Much better clarity once you get the band in there. But the GF still sounds good. Twisting a few knobs would probably get it there.

I'm a boosted Marshall guy but A sounded awesome to me here. Fuller, less fizzy. However, I imagine if you opened up the master volume a bit that tone would fill right out so I don't have a fave. Both are kick ass.
