Reverb declares PRS “quiet champion” in the market for used guitars

The article suggests they are holding higher resale value that isn't dropping as fast as other brands now that the market is beginning to correct.

Personally im not seeing it. Its pretty easy to look on Reverb or check GC used prices and compare them against the new model price. I am consistantly seeing PRS in the 40% of new price and many other brands being on the north side of 50% of new price, with some of the more luxurious models being in the 70% range.

I don't have a dog in the fight just going by the article which I would assume is either a bought and paid for piece or some kind of aggregate of all the sales on reverb.

Its frustrating, I have a couple of PRS guitars, and bought them both new, I have an early run Silver Sky in Horizon, I have been looking to sell but they dont appear to be moving very well right now, unless you drop the price stupid low.

Damn, that sucks. After buying 2 and ready to sell and move on so soon?

Haha no, I bought the SS at release, just missed the hard case shipments, the neck is too thick for me, other than that it’s a fantastic guitar but I don’t use it.
The other my Custom 24, it’s cool and I’m not looking to unload it, but I have come across stuff I have been tempted to offer it up as trade. Bought it new in 21 I think.

We all know...

PRS
Tan Pants
Gold Hardware

The triad of tone... Don't fight it

Haven’t played one in 20 years. Was never a big fan. Can’t explain it beyond, it just doesn’t feel right in the hands

Are PRS’ really worth it? Is their quality better than an Epiphone custom (PRS SE)? Are the silver sky’s better than a Fender American or Gibson Standard?

I am a big fan of the Silver Sky's, I think the SE's are a killer guitar. They have a similar Strat profile that I am used to.

Hmm. I may have to look into one. I want a Strat (I had a fender case that’s empty that I need to fill), but don’t want a MIM. The sandblasted SEs always looked super cool.

Just wondering, why not a MIM? I have always found that Fenders are all about the neck and feel...and those factors change dramatically through all iterations of Fender and Squires.

Honestly, all the ones I’ve picked up have been pretty bad. Maybe they just need a good setup? Hot take, but I think the squier classic vibes are better than the Fender player series.. and I really want to love that Nebula Noir 70th.

I haven't played many newer MIM guitars probably since the early 10's. I have a mid 90's MIM strat that is really nice, the neck feels great but it's real broke in.

mid 90s were actually American ones constructed in Mexico because of a plant fire, right?

Yeah looks like it was only a short period in maybe 95?

I do like the Highway 1s. Forgot about those.
Fender is just such a large company. Hit or miss. I have a chinese J Mascis from 2014 with the rosewood board. It has an "old" feeling neck to me. I love it. I have a heavy ass US ash tele, maple neck. Sounds like a piano
