RESIDENT ROCK PROFESSOR
I really wish he would make an instrumental album one more time . I really enjoyed his first 3 albums . My favorite solos are his on the Poison album . He was a fun shredder

His playing is mindblowing on that debut but it has some of the worst tone and production ever committed to tape lol

Electric Joy is my personal fave from that era

What I really want is another Vertu album.....I remember reading a while back that Kotzen was in talks with Stanley Clarke about doing something together again.....really hope that means Vertu 2

Ya the production on shrapnel was always that same sound lol

I’d love that

He had a cool unique style amongst the many shredders of the day...Kinda like throwing Gilbert, Vai and Saraceno into a blender....and dayaaaammm..Stu Hamm and Steve Smith as your band...you'd have to work hard to sound shitty with that rhythm section.

And yeah not instrumental but this tune puts the whole Kotzen package together:

Picked up a copy of Mother Heads Family Reunion randomly from a discount bin in a used CD store probably 20 years ago. Loved that one also.

I'd love to find a Richie Kotzen neck for a tele. I love that fat baseball neck feel.

One of my fave albums ever. It's finally about to be re-issued (and out on vinyl)

Would be so dope if he could do a reunion tour with Atma Anur and John Pierce for it

Check him out live, if you ever have the chance…when he shreds without a pick, pretty incredible.
