Only Strat style guitar I own is a Fender Aerodyne. It’s the only Strat I’ll ever own but it’s a fine guitar.
That's because it's Made In Japan, the Fender Japan stuff is pretty good.Only Strat style guitar I own is a Fender Aerodyne. It’s the only Strat I’ll ever own but it’s a fine guitar.
Absolutely. That's because it's Made In Japan, the Fender Japan stuff is pretty good.
Yeah, I couldn’t give a shit about it either. But I do agree with a Rick that their playability is for shit. I’ve been picking up Strats off the racks on and off for the last few months and haven’t found one that played as a keeper. He's full of shit. Heres why:
"Fender have alienated everyone thats ever bought a Fender strat"
I dont feel alienated. Why would I? I like my strat. Thats it.
"People dont want to be seen with a Fender branded guitar."
Makes no difference to me whatsoever, and if I ever play anywhere, the 3 people that come to watch wont care either. If it alienates me from these music industry/influencer types, then all the better!
"Fender have destroyed the trust of their customers"
I bought my American Standard Strat in 1998, because I liked it. It was nothing got to do with whether I trusted the company. Yes, it had a reputation but after playing it, I liked it.
And...None of my guitar heros gave a shit either.

So far removed from the average dude in the street, and illogical.
I have to agree with this. The Ultra Luxe Vintage I bought earlier this year is light years ahead of the 90s MIA fat strat (was it a "Lone Star"? Can't remember) that was the first guitar I ever bought. The quality control in the 70's, 80's and 90's was worse than it is now.

The Ultra's are a step above but consistency is shit, lots of problems.I have to agree with this. The Ultra Luxe Vintage I bought earlier this year is light years ahead of the 90s MIA fat strat (was it a "Lone Star"? Can't remember) that was the first guitar I ever bought.
I'm still fairly pissed at Fender though. I care a lot more about Anderson, Suhr, ESP, hell even PRS than I care about Fender.
Very possible - the one I own is the only one I've handled. The Ultra's are a step above but consistency is shit, lots of problems.
I always assumed that the Ultra Series was their answer to the Suhr's and Andertons's of the world.Very possible - the one I own is the only one I've handled.
That's my assumption. I A/Bed it against a couple Suhrs and my stainless refretted PRS EG3 (which is a pretty awesome rare strat type guitar) and it played about as well.I always assumed that the Ultra Series was their answer to the Suhr's and Andertons's of the world.
The trend over the past 20 or so years is to hate large successful corporations. Kinda like how that Luigi creep killed the healthcare ceo and has tons of support for it.
People love to hate on Gibson, Fender, Harley-Davidson, Wal-Mart, Tesla, etc…
It’s fake rage and it’s silly and annoying. Probably based in jealousy more than anything else.
Your soul patch license has been revoked.Fender hasn’t even existed in my mind fir like 30 years . Not a company a care for
