Riding the storm out

Been through a few typhoons here in Japan. It does make me question the lack of logic back in the states. These storms hardly do any damage here because they not dumb enough to build a wooden house on stilts at the beach in a storm prone area. The houses here are reinforced concrete. This one is going to be a direct hit

On a side note I did an ai video of what my doodle are going to look like in a few hours lol

 
Went thru Typoon Irma Nov 1981, i don't recomend that.
Wiki mentions my ship CV-64 USS Constellation. twas aboard.

Went thru Tropical storm Keith in Sarasota 1988 camping on Siesta Key beach. Don't recommend that either.
Didn't know it was coming.

I lived through many hurricanes and helped my sister clean up after helene and milton....

The damage is generally related to water intrusion and mold rather than a stick house blowing over. Most of the stick built homes survived just fine. Probably helps that they were built well with quality old growth lumber. Her house is concrete block, it flooded. My cousins house is concrete block, the lower portion flooded and her seawall collapsed. They had to shore it up with inflatable barriers so that the ground isn't washed out with the tide, which results in your swimming pool cracking and collapsing into the intercoastal. That'll be 100k for the new seawall....
