I'm personally getting burned out on OD pedals and have been mostly successful playing without one for several months. I currently have a Bad Monkey, SD1, Dirty Tree, and an OG Suhr Koko. But I do like the concept of Ola's Chug pedal (I think it is called) with the OD, Tuner and Gate all in one.
you just haven't found the right one yet. it's out there, and will find you when you're ready for it.

so; you're saying it would sound good.

:D

flexibility helps ........ if I were to pick something for this without input from the forum ... I would use this circuit that I did .... The " Japetus " or my copy what I call the Double Griffins .... it's got two foot switchable gain channels ... Bright Switch ..... Buffer Control ...8 choices of clipping bandwidth .... 8 choices of clipping type / diode configuration ( Voice ) ... and a really decent boost that comes after the OD that you can use separately if you want

I was thinking three independent gain circuits that stack left to right (or right to left), and each gain stage 1, 2 or 3 could be used independently, in pairs or all three, going from low, medium, high gain or transparent to od to dist; Zendrive --> SD-1 --> DS-1.

Not good at making formats / diagrams, but something like this: though with all 4 control knobs on the Zendrive; one input, one output. Just 3 pedals in one box

Maybe on the last stage (stage 3), the smaller row of buttons could be small knobs for bass-mid-treble instead of a bright switch

thinking outloud.

I know what you meant ..... I just don't think it will sell .... I'd like to get at least 10 people on board so I can keep the cost lower .... so I have to keep that part in mind also ...

probably not, unless it was "easy" to standardize each gain stage to take different OD/Dist/Boost circuits and knobs.

Similar but much simpler than what I recall Cornish did when he made custom touring pedal boards, just housing several pedals in a single large enclosure.
