The mesa eq would be cool if it was ran at a higher voltage.
Yeah the Mesa 5 Band EQ doesn't really do much for me at 9 volts or even 18 volts .... there's a reason there isn't a bunch of clones .... or why they discontinued it themselves . I think I've seen one clone of it in my time .... and it just sounded like a regular EQ in a loop@Techdeth has been wanting one of those Mesa EQ's. Just thought I'd mention it for him since he's probably tied up trimming his toenails rn.![]()
Bingo .... Ted beat me to it .....The mesa eq would be cool if it was ran at a higher voltage.
I would give one of these a whirl ....... it's a hell of a tone sculpting tool ...I'm knee deep in boosting duals and that would be really REALLY nice in the mix.
Could call it the Rig Talk open fly rig.I second @DanTravis62 's notion of a high gain distortion / digital delay combo pedal. A similar concept to the Jeff Loomis Triad pedal but presumably even better sounding.
going to try to narrow it down to three choices .... then probably do a vote .... or shit ... maybe I'll run three choices and just do a fancy Rig Talk 20th Anniversary logo of some sort on them ..... and personalize them with your screen name on the sidesI second @DanTravis62 's notion of a high gain distortion / digital delay combo pedal. Man I love this thing. Eventually I need a 2nd one for backup.I would give one of these a whirl ....... it's a hell of a tone sculpting tool ...

it's quirky to use at first .... but once you understand what it's doing ..... it's like a Tone ScalpelMan I love this thing. Eventually I need a 2nd one for backup.
EQ pedals are underrated IMO.Man I love this thing. Eventually I need a 2nd one for backup.

Pultecs seem forgotten by most guys. It's a totally unique design. I feel like I haven't even scratched the surface of what it's capable of as a tone shaping tool, I just set it up to clean up my basic OD tone since pedals usually only offer a single "tone" knob that wasn't really doing it for me.EQ pedals are underrated IMO.
Looks like it, I like the idea of higher voltages and parts that are rated for them. The sliders are easy to visualize but I understand those may be the issue in sizing for a pedal enclosure?I would give one of these a whirl ....... it's a hell of a tone sculpting tool ...

The pultec is a completely different sort of EQ.Looks like it, I like the idea of higher voltages and parts that are rated for them. The sliders are easy to visualize but I understand those may be the issue in sizing for a pedal enclosure?
Pultechdeth is a misdemeanor in most states. If charged, a good attorney can easily get you off and unlike the evidence, make sure the charges don't stickThe pultec is a completely different sort of EQ.
Maybe so but you'll still be trimming your fri-toes and shaving your soul patch off for court.Pultechdeth is a misdemeanor in most states. If charged, a good attorney can easily get you off and unlike the evidence, make sure the charges don't stick
Not useful for those of us who put our delays in the loopI second @DanTravis62 's notion of a high gain distortion / digital delay combo pedal. A similar concept to the Jeff Loomis Devil's Triad pedal but presumably even better sounding.
yeah .... I only run mine in the loop also ....Not useful for those of us who put our delays in the loop
I'm talking about a stand alone distortion pedal meant to feed a clean power amp or effects returnNot useful for those of us who put our delays in the loop
