In all seriousness, while I get what Curt is driving at, I'm not sure these posts are relevant. For most people here, guitar, tone, playing, whatever is a hobby. A way to blow off a little steam. Many people here have some spare cash. So they like to collect and try and trade and sell expensive, hand-made shit. And they like to compare the shit and talk about the subtle differences in tone like wine freaks. And maybe they'd like a nice exotic wood hard shell case so their wives don't make them move their amps out of the family room. And maybe... they spend more time ogling all this shit than playing through it. And maybe... they could get the same tone from WAY, WAY cheaper used gear and maybe, they'd sound WAY, WAY better if they practiced more instead of gear hunting... and perhaps, they've never performed outside of their spare room and never recorded anything... etc., etc. etc...

To this I say... SO WHAT?

If buying and trading and tone searching and obsessing is what you like to do at then end of a hard day of work and wife and kids, etc... and it gives you some joy, then GOOD FOR YOU! As long as you aren't blowing Junior's college fund or putting yourself in debt, more power to ya! Life is tough - enjoy your hobby...

Thank You. Now... back to my cognac...

Steve

cognac at 2:44 pm in Irvine. You got openings at that company. Hook a brotha up.
Well... since you've asked multiple times - Do you have any skills in hybrid cloud management? I'm looking for people who understand the management challenges inherent as organizations make the move from initial virtualization projects to elastic private, public and hybrid cloud environments and how performance, capacity and configuration are converging in this highly dynamic environment. Can you confidently speak to a CIO about how behavioral analytics can reduce OPEX through automation? Can you speak to a CISO about solving the horrendous compliance problems that await? Can you help the Operations team understand that this new self-service environment will result in more and more applications being deployed and that expectations will increase for QoS? Can you explain why SLAs are dead?

I'm waiting, Dyer... (taps foot...)

I thought so... Back to my Louis XIII...

Both. I have developed a secret code that allows me to combine my hobby and professional life... I can provide the keys if interested...

Interesting stuff I'd like to hear about next time we hang.

Put me down for a set of Zephyr pickups and an ESP Reference power cable.

I see. Phase I. You've achieved some of the CAPEX reductions associated with server consolidation, but you're now trying to get your hands around sprawl and self service. I can help...
