The only thing worse than neo soul is @Geo the troll

Ok @VonBonfire , I’m getting a start on my Neo-soul pedalboard and I need the critique of my Neo soul guru.

First up is the klone of course. Next is the blues fuzz. I don’t use it much for fuzz but it really bites nicely running at 18v for some lead work.

Next for some movement. I’m on the fence with the trem. It’s my favorite effect but not sure if needed for this gig. Plus my combo has built in harmonic trem (and reverb).

The jrockett tranquilizer I’m still not totally sure how to use, but it feels soulful and I’m gonna let it tell me when it’s needed.

Lastly the rocky road for street cred and maybe like a b3 solo mid set.

I know I’m sorely lacking MESA.
And while I’d like to stick with the Reason Reato as my main amp, I do have this speaker kicking around, which those who know, know it’s the secret to the mesa tone

Trailer Swift is the name I have for my band trailer.

Side note: If you ever see "Swift" on the side of a semi truck, keep your distance. It seems like ever Swift truck driver gets their license in California through bribery. They all suck at driving.

Someone should do something about that...
When I lived in Buena Park in the 80s there was a Kraft factory on Artesia right at the 5. I had a contract with Swift to "Lump" 2 trucks a day. $55 per truck. That's a guaranteed $110 a day, which was pretty god damn good money for an 18 year old in 1985.

Great start but you're lacking a looper for those multi layered neo soul thikk toans.

KLEEEEEN TOANZ with an Epi loaded with Duncan Seth Lover pickups. Smoove groove...

A Sheraton is a great choice for neo soul but I have a growing hatred for Seth Lover pickups. Any amp with true a crystal lattice supporting the high end will shatter with the force of a thousand panes of glass with those bright PAF pickups. This is why PRS is the neo soul guitar of choice.

Good Neo Soul Lord Man...

That shit was Smooovve like a pimp in a Lincoln Continental!

The finger diddle on the Octave, hmmm, Damn, that would make Sade weak in the knees...

Nice tone...

Videos like this remind me that I have way more equipment than talent. Seriously, that was damn tasty

Sheratons are sweet axes. I had a Sheraton II but the neck dive was outta hand. The stock probuckers were absolutely killer neo soul pickups with a great coil split sound too btw. I don't consider a Seth Lover set as an upgrade over them and I have used Seths in a couple different soul machines.
