Sheratons are sweet axes. I had a Sheraton II but the neck dive was outta hand. The stock probuckers were absolutely killer neo soul pickups with a great coil split sound too btw. I don't consider a Seth Lover set as an upgrade over them and I have used Seths in a couple different soul machines.
I have never had a hollow body, let alone a Gibson, but I buddy of mine picked up a Natural finish Epiphone ES-339 at a pawn shop that I did a lot of work on to get it right.

That thing was killer when I got done with it, pissed me off I didn't buy it out from under him...

I have a D'Angelico DC Mini, but the neck dive is killing it for me. Otherwise, it's a great guitar.

I almost bought a bigsby to put on there as a fix but that was over half the price of the guitar so I let it go instead. I regret not just doing it, cause it was wine red, beautiful, and had a shredder level buzz free action. I actually had to raise it a little. If you really love it it might be a worthwhile option.
