My staff consists of Fisheries & Wildlife Biologists and their techs as well as Water/Air Quality standards and Brownfield folks. We do a lot on a meager budget of roughly $2M annually. Its a great gig, but with all of the detrimental effects occurring within our environment; invasive species, pollution, etc, its a lot to process and keep a positive outlook for the future. This is a great thread and I appreciate and respect the vast array of talent comprised of all who have shared.

And great work you are doing Jimmy!
Thanks Jeff, to try and balance out the negatives, we're currently working on two feasibility studies, one for the reintroduction of Elk and the other for Grayling within the Manistee River basin. We're also in our 8th year of Sturgeon restoration on the Big Manistee. We couldn't do it nearly as well without our Federal Counterparts, Forest Service, Fish and Wildlife, Army Corps, NRCS, etc.
if you're anywhere near corn, don't bring in the Elk. won't be long and you'll be getting sued, and you'll have to slaughter the herd.
the elk will wipe out hundreds of thousands of dollars of corn when they're in the late velvet stage.
