Jesse is a real talent and an amazingly sharp songwriter but for whatever reason I much prefer his acoustic work vs his band stuff.

I don't know what you guys are hearing that's so amazing about this 😬

If someone says "rock and fucking roll" i think the Supersuckers, or the New Bomb Turks, not a millennial doing his best John Mellencamp impression

You misread my post. I'm impressed by his ability to compose a salient lyric and put it to music on an acoustic. His electric stuff is more or less forgettable to me.

I didn't misread your post, you said he was an amazing talent but you preferred his acoustic stuff :dunno:

I am uh, not seeing amazing talent anywhere in this, but to each their own i guess

I'm saying it doesn't translate very well to an electric band setting. He's a folk musician more than a rock n roller.

Actually he was a rock n roller before his more recent rise to folk fame.

Here's a much younger version:

Looks wise, that’s as much a melting pot of Ted Nugent’s missing chromosomes, Chris Barnes Neanderthalic sloping forehead and teeny tiny sized eyeballs from the banjo picking inbred from Deliverence that I’ve ever seen.

I've seen that one. Didn't realize he was doing band stuff first. I guess I came across the folk stuff through my wife's social media before seeing him in a full band setting. He's got quite a few witty folk tunes with just him and his acoustic.
