looks like billy gibbons had it in his possesion first? wonder how he got it

If he has pics, should not be that hard to match the flame, the serial no does not seem to be in question. I doubt Gary is the one who stole it. Will be interesting to see how it turns out.

Anyone else thinks the language used in that document doesn't seem very "official" ? I think it's a fake

That's evil-split-tongue-lawyer-speak.

Look, the guitar belongs to Ronnie. Gary Moore now knows this. The standup thing to do is return the guitar to its rightful owner.

I don't know how the law works over there but over here it is like this: as long as GM got that guitar in a way that he wouldn't have had to expect something was wrong with it he doesn't have to return it.
If f.i. he bought it in a store and payed a reasonable price for it he's in the clear.

So howcome, if as the suit claims, the guitar was known to be of very high value, even back then, did they leave the guitar unattended on the side of the stage?
Just throwing that out there.....

Same guitar, no question....

I feel for both of them, a stolen '59 LP would haunt you for the rest of your days, and it doesn't sound like Gary Moore stole it directly, so it sucks for both.

True dat Colin...

Yeah, the guitar belongs to Montrose. It should be returned. Not knowing it was a stolen guitar is not an excuse
to keep it.

wow what a story. I feel for Ronnie, i had a 73' all orginal strat stolen during a gig in between sets and I was on a mission for 3 years to find it. never did which sucks.

interesting to see how this turns out.

This is very interesting. I can't wait to see how it turns out, though I have a bad feeling he won't be getting his guitar back.

If both guys are on the up-and-up (and I don't see any reason why they wouldn't be), I feel bad for both of them, especially whomever loses the dispute.

Gotta love the paragraph that states due to the photo of GM's guitar collection showing significant wear and tear on the guitar they fear for it's high risk of damage while it reamins in his possession.

What did they think it would look like if RM had played it for the last 30+ years. You know Montrose would have sold it well before then anyway for when money was tight or more blow was needed.

I wouldn't return it. It also seems that legally he doesn't have to. I'm sure any of you guys who said he should return it, if you had it in your possession would give it back
