Rumors of a Mark 6/7 coming on Tuesday?

This morning, I awoke and did not see a shipment notification from Sweetwater. So I texted my sales engineer and the other guy responded with this message.

So it looks like Sweetwater never got them in, despite other retailers having it in stock. I politely voiced my frustration and said I had preordered to avoid this exact scenario, and that I wanted one shipping to me the day of release. I even noted that other retailers appear to have it in stock.

I asked the rep for an ETA on the amp arriving at Sweetwater and he doesn't have one so I cancelled my order.

At this point, I'm pretty bummed so I'll skip this one for now. What a let down.

Sorry to the guys who were waiting to get some opinions on this today. I'm bummed.

That sucks. The place I ordered the Mark VII from yesterday just gave me a tracking number with UPS and it says it shipped and my amp should be here this Friday! Hopefully, this is the case because my birthday is tomorrow and this would be a great present to myself.

Did you order from Sweetwater?
 
Okay, I poked thru the Manual.. The V EQ Knobs are now Reverb Levels. Cool. Happy that 90W is wired Simul-Class. It's unique and adds character to the sound. Didn't see a mention of the smaller Coupling Cap for the 2C Mode.. I thought they blew it on the V by using that smaller value Cap. I could never get it to sound big like the IV Mode.. Boogie Cleans were always great so I have no doubt they are good on the VII. I'm more curious but it's still expensive. I'm way more curious about the upcoming Ultralead!

Agreed. Lots I am liking on this new mk7 that lead me to believe it will sound and respond better than my old mk5. But just the way my experience went with the mk5, I want to actually sit down with a mk7 before I spend that kind of dough.

I am also holding out for that new Ultra-lead as well. I have a late 90's VHT branded Ultra-lead I love, but the best feeling/sounding ones I felt were his later model Ultra-lead's. So I can only imagine the new Ultra-lead is going to be amazing

They shouldn't have conflicting stories like this one.

They tell you they have it and it's ready to ship then they tell you they didn't actually have it and they are still waiting on them.

Do you think they might have decided to sell it to someone else like a preferred customer?

I suspect the one guy didn't know it was going to be sent to someone else and told you it was there and ready to ship.

I have gone through similar things with other companies, so I am little less trusting these days.

Sorry that they did this to you :-(

the MK7.
The MK6 was the ‘shill’ of the MK7.
Like a Gibson Custom Shop ‘hangnail’.
 
I’m far more interested in the VII than I ever was the V. The channel layout/modes also makes much more sense to me now.

My buddy is getting his Saturday and he ordered from Sweetwater. It was definitely after you too because I saw you post about ordering one and then told him about it.

My guess is there was a screw up with yours.
 



hmmm, i was expecting.. more balls?? sounds a little thin? dont know why he used that mic petrucci is using live as myself and im guessing many others have no clue what it sounds like
 
Yeah I’m definitely pretty underwhelmed with Ola’s demo, especially after liking fluffs so much. Wish he used his tlm102 or a more traditional mic for such a big event as a mark Vll demo
 
The Fluff & Ola videos together give a good picture of how good this is. Obviously the feel in the room is going to be the lynchpin to deciding but I am really stoked!

My sales engineer said it had something to do with photos. They had it reserved for me then took off the reserve so that they could get the amp to marketing for website photos and videos. Then it appears they never put it back on hold and it got sold to someone else. He said he "raised a ton of hell" and "lost some friends at work over it." I told him it's cool, it's just an amp and this stuff is supposed to be fun, but that I still wanted to cancel the order because Pitbull Audio here in SD has one in stock that I can actually hear (and frankly, possibly get a better deal on.) I will check out today when I go down to drop off a couple of guitars to my tech.

I'm also FINALLY going to make the video of the Carstens Warm Machine I've been promising everyone forever.

Yea it’s all fun but I can see your sales person being super upset getting screwed out of a deal. From his own co workers too
