Sammy Hagar bashes DLR and Van Halen

The reality is that eddie doesn't really want to do shit anymore, and doesn't need the money. Wolfgang wants to do all this stuff and Ed is excited about doing all this with his son. It's keeping him healthy and productive. If wolf wanted Sammy back, Sammy would be back. If wolf wanted a new singer to bring the band into a new era, they would get a new singer. Mike ain't coming back unless wolf switches to guitar or keys, but basically Wolf is in charge. I don't blame Ed, he's done it all, now he wants to have fun with his son. We all keep looking at this from a business or artistic perspective and none of that applies here.
 
I didn't say anybody should do anything.

I just said the tracks suck.
 
My comment wasn't directed at you or your opinion, just at the general situation. You're right, the tracks do suck, and I keep seeing all over facebook and forums comments about bring back Sammy, get s new guy, bring back mike etc.... And sa,my talking about how bad it is (we all know tht). Ed has even said in interviews , hes basically just doing whatever wolfie wants.
 
I said from day 1 they we're a better band with Sammy Hagar.....

David Lee Roth can't sing anymore...

I've seen them live and He's so bad it's sad to watch..
 
Hardly call what Sammy said a "bashing". They asked, he told the truth...
 
I don't have the CD but the concert from Tokyo Dome 2013 that is on Youtube is actually pretty decent...Roth has his moments but its overall not too bad. Certain songs he sings quite well and others are pretty bad.

I agree 100% .Old Ed would have freaked with the twirling mic like a baton and hitting himself and bleeding live .He doesn't care wants to play some cool tunes hang with his bro and kid .
Thats what its about for him I believe not money not fame ,he is just chill now ,not really jumping .I love Eddie but to me the fire is gone and he is jamming having fun
 
My brother seen Van Halen years ago when they were opening up for bands before they started wearing spandex. He said David Lee Roth was a bad singer back then. He said the next time they came around they wore spandex and was headlining the show and David Lee Roth was so drunk he talked most of the time and only played about 8 songs and they were done. Regardless I think they are still a great band and sounded pretty good on the recent T.V appearances. It's not a perfect world.

Nobody in VH has ever worn spandex on stage except Roth...

Eddie's 60 years old Jan 26th I think, Alex is going to be 62 in May and DLR is almost 61...not bad for a bunch (mostly) of old farts.
What stories they must have from 70's 80's and 90's. And for what its worth I truly believe if Dave had some discipline and practiced he could be much better
 
The reality is nobody cares what Sammy Hagar thinks. He needs to just go fuck himself. And he's responsible for getting Mike Anthony kicked out of the band. If MA was in there holding down the vocals, none of these Roth bashing threads would exist. MA was the glue that held that band together but the dipshit burned the bridge.
 
What's funny is that every single piece of footage I've seen from the glory days Roth is not really better, just ….younger.

DLR is an entertainer who tries to sing. Hagar is a singer who tries to enterian.

A little harsh don't you think? Or do you know more than we do? I really don't know who could have done a better job in that band when they kicked Roth out. I don't know, I like Sammy, seems like a cool guy that has his shit together. And I always like his voice. Everyone forgets he had a really cookin solo career when he joined VH.
 
Actually concerning this Hagar interview...he wasn't "asked", he basically started bashing the album before the interviewer could even ask a question about it. Hagar has never liked Roth, he's always felt his contributions were more important to the big scheme of VH and he was the main instigator in bashing Roth when he originally joined the band. Granted that was a long time ago...when MTV actually played music so a lot of you young pups wouldn't know about it. Not anti Van Hagar either...in fact the one VH album I listen to on a somewhat regular basis is 5150 but really, move on Sammy.

As for VH with Roth live back in the day...you simply had to experience it. Not one of us stood there and criticized Dave's singing...hell everyone was too in awe of how powerful the band was as a whole to nit pick. Besides...nobody controlled an audience like DLR back then. Sadly an art that was completely lost in the 90's with the grunge movement and really hasn't been the same since. To this day VH with Roth from 78-82 is arguably the greatest live band to ever hit the stage. I'm lucky to have seen the original band numerous times with Roth and why I have no need or want to see them now.

Not really. He's a douche. I read his book and then threw it in the garbage. The guy is so hung up on getting tossed out of VH, talks shit about them and expects them to come crawling back to him. Meanwhile VH reforms with DLR and proceeds to kill it despite his vocal shortcomings.
