Here's my favorite setting:

Volumes- To taste
Presence- 10:00
Treble- 2:00
Middle- 10:00
Bass-10:30
Gain- 1:30
Totally agree regarding gain at 1:30; that is definitely the sweet spot...if you need more, you can always goose it with something out front. ;)

Yep, definitely the perfect mix of tightness and saturation. :)

Question... how would you get that +5 db boost for a solo from an amp like the uber?

Congrats James, sounds really good!
Great clip BTW Lieb

Thanks dude! Still sounds kinda digital IMO... any tips or suggestions for me?

It sounds good to me but if you think it still sounds kinda digital, maybe you can play with using different mics/mic placement?
When I was doing a test recording of my triple rec with a sm57 I had to back off the treble and presence a bit (could be the mic)

Thanks dude! I'm using a decent interface, a Focusrite Saffire Pro 14, but it still doesn't sound as warm and natural as a lot of forumites' clips.

Just got it back, sounds great. A quick run through, this was a setting I kind of liked

Presence 1pm
highs 11am
mids 11am
bass 4pm
gain 1pm
master 1pm
overall master 1pm

To me this amp and my racto are the only amps that absolutely have to be cranked. Once I open up all the kackyness goes away. Gonna track it in the morning

Awesome, glad you like it. To me, there is nothing out there that does it better.

I got to crank it some more tonight, man it is killer. Very different then the VH4. The VH4 sounds great at low volumes the Uber does not imo. The VH4 is very controlled and precision sounding the Uber is much more vicious and outta hand. The Uber has a very different saturation almost like a deeper heavier saturation, I was playing some stuff off of Facelift and it just sounded so perfect, like sludging through mud. The low end is tight though, really strange that I felt so much sag but the amp felt fast at the same time, really weird. Yontz said the original power tubes were ok but the pres were toasted badly. I changed them all out and he went through it and got her all go to go. I can't wait to track something...

Nice addition to the amp family. That low, throaty Bogner grind is something your other amps don't really do. Awesome!

Exactly.

Just helped a forumite record some of his band's songs, and I lent them my Rev 2. That thing sounded wicked, really surprised me how it was saggy, yet tight where it needed to be (like JL says). Such a badass amp. If it came down to it, I'd sell the Twin Jet and stay with the Rev 2.

I think if I did sell the Twin Jet, it would have to be after I tried it with E34Ls. I have a feeling it's gonna slay with them.

Awesome, it's no Twin Jet, but still awesome... :D

This amp is better than the Twin Jet..sorry

Edit: KT88 may be to blame?

I think it'd be cool if Bogner did a reissue of the Rev 2. Darker tonality, saggy, lots of power, EL34s... great stuff. :)

I ordered tubes today from Laura.
Great, what did you order?

what was the answer to this ? and who is the "tube queen" or whoever? I typically buy E34L's from eurotubes.

I think we went with Ruby EL34s

Set a 57/421 combo through 2 neves with a Recto cab at 8 ohms and spent about 30 minutes dialing it in in the control room with the cab in an iso booth. Great amp. Definitely not standard controls at all. After 30 minutes of tweaking I ended up liking everything at about 1pm except the treble, she is at noon. The channel master volume is a trip, if I move it a hair past where it is at the amp gets wicked bright, really strange reaction. Once I messed around for a bit it was pretty easy. I love the tone it really suits my playing too. I can't wait to start using it.

Definitely not an easy or traditional amp to dial in. That's part of the fun! :)
