School me on Blades Firebolt

Wow, so much is wrong/unsafe. With a little knowledge the amp could be a lot safer. Correct these rudimentary build issues and the amps might have a chance. As it stands now, this amp is basically a death trap.

at least his amps are name appropriately. Reaper and Firebolt. The cup holder can double as a fire extinguisher holder or a place to put your ashes

I have to give credit where credit is due, Billy makes many men happy by delivering cameron modded amplifiers which cameron himself couldn't even do.

yes, he said it himself. he bought a couple Cameron modded marshalls and copied the mods, then declared them his own. the videos still might be up on his channel on youtube, the dudes a shameless self promotionist. really gross guy. his amps could sound better than anything out there, and I still would not support that guy.

Bought one dirt cheap and will say it sounded alright. Build quality made bugera look like a tank. Run

Anyone who has owned single channel
Marshall’s knows that no 2 sound the same. I can tell you that Billy’s attention to (lack off) detail is evedent in anything he touches. Just look at his tattoos. What sets apart the paint by numbers builders like Billy and the real guys is knowing what to tweak to fine tune. I have yet to see 2 Cameron’s built identically. Billy is a hack at life. He is a narcissistic bloated and arrogant shit for brains.

I saw one for sale at Music 123 or someplace like that for $900.00 or so..I'll try to find it and update
Here it is at music go round
https://www.musicgoround.com/p/834612/u ... ifier-head

I played that amp. It sounded REALLY good. Here is the issue. The salesman plugged it into the wrong ohm jack (not saying it caused the issue to be mentioned) but a rubbery burning smell started to happen about 5 minutes into playing it. I called the dude over and sure enough....he shut it down. The amp must be fine now. I am a personal friend of the manager and there is no way he would sell a turd of an amp or anything else for that matter.

Well it wouldn’t fix itself

WTF is the purpose of shrink tubing if you don't shrink it?

He's using it to conceal components from gut shots. There's quite a few places he's doing it actually.
That’s not the case at all. The jackass doesn’t know what a heat gun is

I never said he was successful at either

If I remember correctly this is almost verbatim :hys:
I wasn't around here when the Blades crisis was going on but this Youtube video is hilarious,I can pretty much picture the guy spewing BS and making himself out to be an AMP GOD !!

The first pic in the 4th post of this thread says it all.

A lot of people don't know cameron was caught red handed stealing transformer info from reinhold bogner many many years ago. So in reality billy stole from mark, and mark stole from reinhold

Nothin unique about the transformers mark used of Bogner for that matter. The high voltage PT is nothing Marshall didn't already do in the late 60's and certainly neither used any special specs for their output transformers. What mark did do what take Bogner's excursion circuit and make the 1M resistor variable on a pot and changed a few values that is now his punch circuit, but it have Bogner all over it. Outside of Bogner though, Mark does things that aren't seen in many other builders designs.

Here is the correct layout, some values were incorrect, should all be correct now. Thanks to equinox

BTW if you build this, I would suggest you move the IEC ground to a dedicated chassis spot towards the left. And swap the purple and grey wire locations on the gain level switch. This should prevent the amp from killing you in the event of a component failure.

I'm still not seeing how the Mid Shift and Gain Level switches work. Seems like in middle position they would not work at all.

That gains switch needs to be discussed. If using a typical DPDT, it's just wrong. To the right gives you 430k. Center does noting and you will starve V1a of any B+ and to the left give you 70.5K.
If a type 2 was used then left will give 100k, center will give 240k, and right will give will give 430k.

now type 2 are very hard to source so I'm not sure if this is just Blades being a dumb ass, a typo in the layout or what. 1st I would never put any B+ on switches typically rated for ~30V DC. If I did have a switch rated for more, I still wouldn't put this on a switch, but for the sake of conversation, to get similar desired specs a type 1 switch could be used with the 430k to the center lug a 470K on one side and a 120k on the other, but still a dumb design.

Yeah, they must be type2 on-on-on switches.

As for the voltage of the switch, they only give a few voltage ratings at some amperage. I think the switch can handle it fine, however it would be safer to have the resistors between the switch and the b+ since that would limit the current. BTW there are other notable manufactures that have used these mini toggles with high voltage. But I agree It does make me nervous.

Hell even the large Carling switches we use for the standby switches only spec a voltage of 250v
