School me on the Palmer PDI-03 speaker simulator.

They are great. I prefer the original - and all you have to do is open it up and you can see they aren't built the same. I would say though in this day and age there are much better options.

I'm kind of a head/cab guy on a budget, do tell what your talking about?
 
Well it's a speaker emulator and load box (no speaker required). There are several load boxes available. And with the advent of products like the Two Notes Torpedo which uses IRs (impulse response) to emulate speakers you have many more options of tone available, where as the Palmer is fairly fixed with the limited eq options on it.
 
Alex Lifeson has great results with the Palmer, though the IR ability of the Two Notes Torpedo seems pretty cool. Are they available anywhere in the U.S.?

I have the PGA-04 ADIG works great but I only used it once.

That's correct. There's a rig rundown video for him somewhere on Youtube. If you guys are interested in the Torpedo, they've got a free plugin available now, and then a paid version with more options. It would probably give a good idea what the Torpedo sounds like.

That being said I still really like my PDI-09, which is basically just a DI-only version of the PDI-03.
