Scored me a great Gibson SG for a great price

Yeah, I’d like to snag a Gothic Explorer myself , but they’re expensive as Phuk.

I’d have to find a deal like I did on this SG.

Paying $2K+/- is too rich for this old man.
It's funny because a couple years after production of the gothics and fadeds ended you could hardly give them away. Now they are sought after. *shrugs

Yeah.

It’s all about scarcity of these guitars.

They’re the foster children nobody wanted, until someone thought they were worth having.

Now everyone wants to adopt them , and they’re not a lot of them to go around.

NOW you gotta pay the adoption agency big dinero amigo to get em, and I don’t mean pesos.

Too bad Gibson isn't putting out something reasonably priced anymore. You're looking at $1500 on the low end. I believe the fadeds went for around $600 new. I remember the ES333 going for $999 in 2002-03....they are commanding more money used than a low end 335 in a lot of instances now, which is actually retarded but unfortunately the day and age we live in. I'm a fan of the Memphis era stuff, me and the old lady toured the factory on our honeymoon in '01, that was a good time.

Those are both great scores Scott.

Is it easy to find amazing deals at pawnshops in Japan ?

Or do you even frequent them ?
That was in Texas. They don't have pawn shops in Japan in the sense that people can get predatory loans. They have many second hand shops though and that where I score most of my guitars. I got my Vigier Excalibur Rock Art for $1400, GV Wood for $1800. Les Paul Standard for $1200 and Custom Shop strat for $2000

I’ve lived in Texas all my life, and still live in South Texas along the Gulf Coast.

For the last 25 years before I retired, I’d hit several every day while I did my sales calls.

I retired 5 years ago, but the hunt and finding amazing deals was addictive.

Now I only go out about once a week and mainly just locally, and not the 75 mile radius I used to.
