right...gift a $3000 item to save a few bucks removes a lot of protection

I just bought an amp from a guy. Paid for it, the PayPal email listed for the guy is incorrect apparently. Funds have not left my bank account. I talked with the guy, decided I'd cancel the payment and he'd relist. Now I have a "temporary hold" on the funds until my bank processes the transaction. Since the guys email is listed as unregistered, I don't know how my bank can process the transaction. Not sure what to do here.

EBay's 10% fee makes the last few things I sold on Ebay the last. $750 fees for selling a few guitars. Screw them. I remember the old days of Postal Money Orders. No PayPal or Ebay

^^^^ This. I'm done with selling on E-bay also. The fee's and the way they cater to the buyer and the seller's have no recourse when dealing with an asshat buyer. It's a shame really. I put a lot of time and effort into building a great reputation as a seller and buyer, but they have just gone too far. Reverb.com is the next thing for me. I suggest everyone check it out if you havent.
