If You know a good tech in Florida please let me know.
Is there anyone in the Fort Myers area ?

Thanks,
Peter

Peter,

I live in Fort Myers actually. I have been looking for a good tech for a few years and finally gave up and started working on my amps on my own. However, I have heard a few rumors about a good amp tech in cape coral (which is part of Fort Myers) that I will track down today for you and get you a phone number and an email address. If not I can offer to do it. I'm a younger guy but I've worked on 30-40 tube amps. Biasing, tube replacement, tracking down bad resistors or capacitors and replacing them. Transformer change outs. I'm also in a very active band and I have a music degree if that means anything in this application lol.

There is a place in Fort Myers called Brents Music. http://www.brentsmusic.com/ that is their website and their phone number is 00-1-239-936-7625. Their email is admin@brentsmusic.com

From alot of people i talked to they said that they were the best in the area! I hope that helps you Peter!!!

I sent my amp to Chicago to a specialized repair center noted to be really good. My amp failed after only using it three times, and the reverb circuit was never hooked back up.
I know of Brent's Music. No way would I let him work on my Diezel amps.

I have been searching as well for a really knowledgeable amp tech in this area that has the knowledge to work on Diezel amps and so far, they do not exist.

Larry Rodgers in Naples would not even look at it, and he knows circuitry well, but the older types is all he works on.

This area is a wasteland for high end anything repair.

I would rather send my amp to Bad Steben then trust anyone around here with it.

Lurchhammer,
That place in Tampa is mostly for studio gear repair or computer work. Have you sent your Diezel amp there to be repaired?

Brent's has worked on a few friends amps. Fryette's, Orange, Bogner, Framus... They have all come back good and he did a clean job. Their amp tech is a good dude but their store front sucks pretty hard. Other then him there is no one in the area that has any kind of knowledge to work on modern amps in the area. And Diezel amps are built like tanks. There isn't much that should really go wrong with them that would need some really serious work. And even then all you have to be able to do is know how to identify issues and solder lol. Replace parts with the same parts.

Contact Mike: mike.jay@comcast.net

he's located in Tampa and you barely will find a better tech in this area!
Btw. he's also the house tech of the Morrison Studios in Tampa.

Larry

Thanks Larry !

Btw. how are You ? I was becoming a Daddy on 11.28.
Nights are getting short and noisy

With pleasure, Peter!

Unfortunately the things around me weren't going well recently.
I've lost my 6 y.o. son after surgery on Sept. 9-th and weren't able to continue my work (among others) for about 6-8 weeks after this.
And at this time I still didn't get back my 100% of energy and inspiration. But time hopefully will heal all traumata & everything!

My congrats to your Little-Peter or Little-Petra!
And believe it or not - I envy you for your 'short & noisy nights'! I wish mine back these days

Larry
