What do you pack them in/with? What carrier do you use to ship? I am considering selling a could of my 70's 4x12's but shipping seems like it would be a real PITA. How are you guys handling it?

If you don't have a box, just let UPS pack it. They charge about $35 for it. Bring the cab and that's it. Call them and get estimate by giving them the size of the cab.

No, I've shipped several 4x12s via UPS as well as have had them delivered that way. When I can, I keep the box just in case.

I shipped a 4x12 through UPS. I packed it myself. I did not put any padding just cardboard all around to keep it from getting scratched. The lady said they would not insure it for damages because it did not have 2 or 4 inches of padding. I can't remember which it was. It cost about $120 to ship it back east. I most like ly would never do it again. It was a pain in the ass.

Yeah. Definitely a pain. Just craigslist it for $100 less than what you'd sell it for online. Should move at that price and it'd still save you time and the pain!

Find a box first and then ship it UPS or Fed Ex. If you take it into UPS or FedEx unboxed they will rip you for a box and packing material.

Who needs a box!!?? The guy that sent me this is way ahead of us!
Slap the cover over it..piece of cardboard on top and one on bottom, Wrap in Saran wrap..Good to go!! Ship it!! Man...We've been makin things way too hard! This guy knows how to live!!

Dude don't bother! $180 to ship a 4x12 with UPS using my packing and box. That's with or without speakers it made no difference! Total bullshit...on top of that the cab arrived destroyed and it took about 2 months to get compensation on the claim!
