Should I change out the EMG's?

I Would love to find some NOS Emg 81's they do sound so much better than the new ones & especially with the 18V Mod.

Not to sound repetitive, but it sounds like a guitar with EMG's. I've loved and hated the 81, they sound great when you put them in, then after removing and putting in a passive, say a JB/Jazz set , it sounds like the guitar again.

I started with EMGs when I was a teen. I played them exclusively for 10 years. Later I try swapping some out for passives, and It was night and day better with passives.
