Didn’t like the vintage spaces trem. The strings ride too close to the fret edges. I bought a nickel kluson vintage narrow to bring the string in some. Got it aged and installed. Also remembered o can’t stand the proximity of the volume pot, so got an undrilled pick guard and made some room. Lastly the pickup to bridge spacing is fender spec 15mm vs non fender 10mm, so put it a JB to add more high mids

Hi Scott, had a quick question about this bridge to pickup spacing; I'm kind of ignorant in this area, but you're saying that fender put their humbucker routes further from the bridge/closer to the neck? I know pickup position plays a good bit into how it sounds; I can't imagine why people would be trying to get LP sounds out of their bridge humbucker, but Fender would put it in a different location? Who uses a different bridge humbucker location than Fender?

Do any of the DIY body MFRs put humbuckers at the 10mm spot? Is that generally measured from saddle-break?

Something new….Used ToneBomb single P90 body I picked up, I routed it for a bucker. Blue stain w Roth purple candy over that, will finish in 2k clear….

I don’t know any bonuses MJT who uses fender specs

Im changing out the hardware for antique bronze. I put the body into the freezer for 48 hrs. Going to swap out pickups for Seymour Duncan Antiquity JB and Jazz in the neck. Put a shim from Stewmac into the neck pocket so I can lift the Floyd out of the pocket to install a D-tuna (y)
