I’m waiting for my Warmoth neck to arrive. It’s figured mahogany with a Macassar ebony fretboard.
Those satin finishes look badass. What’s the body wood?
Yeah, I really dig satin and tung oiled finishes these days. The body is mahogany. Should sound good with a mahogany neck and ebony fretboard. I just scored the body on Reverb, all wired up with the MCP Detroiter in the pic for $330 shipped/tax. I wasn’t even looking to buy, then I saw this and was like
What neck shape and frets did you order?
It’s a neck that’s already in stock. It’s a Strat headstock, standard thin, 10-16 radius, 1 11/16” nut, and I chose Standard Jumbo (6150) frets.

i want to build one of these soooo bad! how much adjusting is there to get it to play nice? surely all the necks and bodies aren't a perfect fit?

I have so many - building them is addictive! The flame maple top is the ‘prettiest’ one I have done. The rest are far more utilitarian...
That reverse headstock guitar looks cool

Yeah Im curious about this too. I want a superstrat and keep looking at Charvels but I would love to build one. Im almost finished building a Plexi and Im hoping to build a Jose type build next. A guitar would be a fun project in between

If you’re ordering both a Warmoth neck and body I guarantee you they will be a perfect fit. If you’re ordering from two different vendors that it could get dicey.

I swapped the Warmoth and USA Custom necks from above and they fit but not quite as perfect as same brand. Also had an Allparts on the Warmoth for a short time and it too fit OK but not perfect.

The main mismatch wasn't so much the sides of the neck pocket, they were all pretty good there. But the neck angle did change enough to require an entire setup and in at least one case removing neck and shimming.

You can assemble and play and I've done that but to be top shelf it could require some fretwork (should be minimal).

This is true. There’s usually some fretwork and nutwork needed.

Also, no shame in assembling and setting it up best you can and then taking it to a pro for final touches.

Be VERY careful about pickguards having correct fit. They all seem different. I bought a WD pickguard and took that quilt-top Warmoth to The Guitar Factory and had them route it for humbuckers using that pickguard as a guide. A Warmoth pickguard totally would not fit now. Pickups shifted considerably with Warmoth being way more forward than WD. TBH, I'm glad I didn't use Warmoth pickguard because I believe the bridge pickup to be placed too far forward. Interferes with my picking on high E sometimes and I 'think' it sounds a little better shifted towards bridge.

KNE body with a Warmoth neck--vintage Dimarzio and original Floyd. Painted by a fiend. If interested go watch me play it on youtube. Trailer Park Vampire Rocking Vampire. http://youtu.be/XAecOy4O_kc

Here's a couple of recent ones I did.

My attempt at a Joe Holmes non-Floyd style. Faded Fiesta Red with J80 pup to boot. Callaham Bridge with Brass block and a USA Fender Stratocaster Performer neck.

2008 USA Charvel Pro-Mod So Cal body with Tom Anderson H3+/H1 pups and AAAA maple neck.

Here is my MIJ EVH parts Wolfgang. I bought a hard tail black Wolfgang Special. Sold the body. Bought MIJ trem body and mated the body with the neck, tuners, nut and electronics. Installed a Gotoh Floyd in place of the original. I really like the ebony board with this color body and chrome floyd. Would love to find a set of chrome EVH tuners for it but not a deal breaker for me. The stainless frets and flat top body are great too.

Where did you get the necks for the 2 HS Strats? They look like not Fender licensed but only if you look close.

Both guitars have Ovation bodies and necks from guitarpartsonline. The blue guitar has a Floyd 1984 and a Dimarzio Dominion. The red guitar has a Kahler and a Peavey Wolfgang pickup.

The blue and green ones have USACG necks. Great necks

The Vintage White has a Butalla custom neck. I'm told modeled after a Lynch Kamikaze.

The pink one has a Warmoth neck. Decal was on it when I got it. 59 profile, 12" radius, refretted with Jescar stainless steel 57110 frets. My favorite neck ever.
