I like slash a lot but won't step foot inside a Walmart or support them. Usually they sell any rocknroll that they perceive as dangerous so I guess this was approved.

myles is growing on me, as are these songs.

i love the first song. i think the mix is a bit nasally overall for this vid...the drums sound brittle...the guitar is nasally, and myles is extra nasally sounding too....the bass is weak in the mix too.

but i love the performance, and, as i said, the songs and myles are growing on me.

I honestly don't care for Myles' vocal style period. I meant its cool he can hit the notes and all, but his vocal histrionics are just kinda meh. This is especially apparent when he covers G&R tunes, as he basically achieves Axl's range through pure head voice, where Axl uses reinforced falsetto. It's technically more impressive, but doesn't sound as good or as powerful.

Frank Sidoris has a nice rig.

I agree. No doubt that this guy has some pipes but there is something to be said about soul in music. When axl sang his songs you believe it and know he was speaking from life experience and that means something to some, others care who was classically trained.

Slash will play anywhere for money.

I guess you haven't read his book. Slash will play anywhere PERIOD. It was one of the reasons he broke with Axl. He couldn't stand sitting around doing nothing. He just loves to play, anywhere and with anyone. Yeah, I am sure getting paid tons of money to do what you love doesn't hurt, but he sure as hell doesn't need the cash now. BTW, when he wrote that book he was playing shit holes with Snakepit, like The Wetlands in NYC that held a few hundred people. I stood about 2 feet from him all night. It was hilarious watching a huge tour bus pull up to this club. Mind you, he was waiting for AXL to get his shit together to go back on tour at the time. Guns was still huge and they could have done anything because they technically weren't done at the time. Slash is a true rock guy. He just loves to fucking play.

Yeah, I totally think slash is really a cool , humble guy. Just something about it being for Walmart that rubs me the wrong way. I don't hold it against slash though and I love his playing and style, although some of this latest stuff sounds to modern for me. When I first heard one of the new songs on the radio I thought it was some modern rock band with a lead player who was semi influenced by slash. I was shocked when they announced it was.

I can't listen to that singer or anything Slash does anymore because of his singer. The guy grates on my ears. Too bad because I dig slash and his playing.
