That’s the one I liked . It’s a tad slow with repeating parts tooo much . That’s what I don’t like
Yeah the repetition can get old. It's interesting...approaching this from the perspective of a primarily metal fan, it's not really appealing to me.

But being more open minded (which I find hard to do with music, I'm fairly stagnant in my tastes) I can see the appeal, and then with repeated listens it becomes familiar and tasteful. More than I can say about the latest Dream Theater, fucking gag me!

Dude the first track on new dream theater was awesome af

I appreciate what they do, their stuff is well produced but no matter how much I listened, their stuff never really pulled me in.

Ok I’m starting it to like it .lol I think I just started to like what I hate
That's how I was. I listened to them enough that they grew on me. Then I saw them live at Sonic Temple last year and they blew me away. I appreciate bands that have their own thing going on, and they definitely do.

Usually when you have to “try” to like a band, it’s a bad sign… I have them more than a fair shake, just to see what all the hype is about… and I don’t hear the appeal.

To me, it sounds like something AI would make. Even though it may seem contradicting, they have something unique about them. Maybe that’s the appeal. My taste in music can be so nit-picky and random…

Their success reminds me a bit of periphery in that I’m surprised a band that doesn’t appeal to your average “casual listener” is doing so well - good for them

There’s a lot I don’t like . But I like low guitars whej they come in lol

They really did a great job at capturing the market of “horny women in their 30s.”

I can see why people like them, but I don’t get why people are so into them. Personally I hate the style of singing and think there isnt much technical skill in the musicians outside of the drummer.

Am I falling asleep listening to Sleep Token or am I Sleep Token writing a song about me falling asleep?

They released a new single today called Caramel, and I'll admit I had high hopes as their first single Emergence had grown on me. Unfortunately I feel like this new release is a step backwards for them, and a better representation of what this band really is. Over the last few weeks I've tried to be open minded and listen to a handful of their tunes from different albums. My opinion is that at their core, they are a pop band that leans more towards R&B and hip hop than rock and metal, with a charming singer and a surprisingly talented drummer. Their metal side has moments of greatness, but usually feels forced, basic, and ultimately uninteresting.

If you ask me, they are trying to be too much at once, but from the metal perspective it's not enough. Moments of aggression and intensity are dragged down by slow tempos, R&B breakdowns, generic pop themes, and vocal ballads. It works occasionally, but I'm losing my patience with this band. I feel like any band selling out arena tours is worth an open minded approach, but at this point I see myself cherry picking a handful of songs from their discography and scrapping the rest. I'll be giving the new album a chance when it comes out in May.
