Who's this "we" you speak of? You mean you and your filipino pool boy?

Yeah, that channel doesn´t get nearly the love it deserves. People tend to think of it as just a lower-gain version of the overdrive, but apart from the fact that it has a lot less squish it also has a more narrow mid focus and a leaner bottom. It really is the original booteek Marshall, much more so than the overdrive is.

Yep. I love the SD1 boosting the crunch and the overdrive channel of my SLO. The Maxon OD808 is great with the SLO too and another cool flavor, but I usually prefer my SD-1W with my SLO.

It is a KILLER channel. Total volume-controllable gain.

Yeah, it´s very dynamic that way. Check out what Mark Knopfler, a guy with some serious touch, did with that channel alone back in the day.

I really liked the Normal channel and ended up using it more than the OD channel, which unfortunately is why I ended up selling the SLO. I thought a Marshall 2204 was better at that type of thing

But now I really wish I’d just held on to the damn SLO...

I love the normal channel on my HR25. Responds great to a Maxon OD808 or Timmy boosting it as well. I would say I spend about 75% of my time on the normal channel when I play through the HR25.

I sell too much stuff. Always at a loss too because I’m too impulsive :( Someone out there has my old SLO-rack mount as part of his retirement plan now that Soldano retired.

You had a rackmount SLO and you sold it ??? Jeeeeezzz ! :aww:

I'll keep mine to the grave....

Normal channel kills with a strat! I set it up with some breakup and reverb in the loop (modded loop), perfect bluesy leads and dynamic rhythm. I wonder how the soldano 44 holds up, supposedly based on the normal channel with reverb built in.....

Yeah. Shoulda kept that and an old ‘90s bluefaced VH4 and shouldn’t have passed on a VHT Classic because what would I do with another power amp, or given away as a gift a prototype 7-string Fender etc etc.

Well, I suspect you´re best off selling SLOs right now if you want to maximize the profit, as opposed to sitting on them indefinitely. It´s only a handful of fans reeling from the news that´s actually paying a big premium for them, right now the online prices are at least double from what they have been and I think that will settle down soon enough. It´s not like the SLOs that potentially could have been built in the next ten years would make much difference in the availability anyway.

I have an SLO that I'm considering selling. Just not sure. Has a roadcase and everything, so it'd be easy to ship. Maybe I should.

Its a good time to move it if you want to get the maximum amount.
