Smallbox dead. Small blue thing fell out!

Make sure you report this to Dave as this is obviously an issue in manufacturing that needs to be sorted out. How a resistor can just fall out is beyond me. I could understand a cold joint on one side of a resistor but both sides of the same resistor ?
 
Looking at the picture of the board with the missing component, it looks as if that resistor wasn't properly soldered; little to no solder, open hole.
My best guess is that someone made a mistake in assembly, leaving that part unsoldered. The resistor probably made contact to the board anyhow, therefore passing factory inspections.

Definitely something for Dave to get some attention on.
