In before the lock and deletion! I'd be calling my credit card company and disputing the charges.

Doubt it will be locked or deleted, we've both seen way worse left open, for months.

Interesting choice to publicly post the question, instead of a phone call, but to each their own.

Locking or deleting it would be silly. Brad is a solid guy and I am sure he has a solid answer for those who have given a deposit and those who will in the future to ease minds. With the Bernie Rico situation, Dar amps drama and the other situations where people have lost deposits on various things, I think it's important to ease minds in order to do business. People trust Brad and they trust him because of feedback and past dealings.

I think we, the forum members that have given you deposits, deserve to know just what you do with our deposits while waiting for the amps to be built...
You've had my $500 for a Friedman JJ since January this year. I spoke to Dave Friedman and he doesn't have my deposit...

Oh. I would have thought that vendors/retailers obtain deposits from customers to then immediately remit them to the manufacturer(s), so that THEY (the vendors/retailers) get a guaranteed allotment of stock as it rolls off the manufacturer's assembly line.

???

I'm doing a bit of reading between the lines regarding the "if something were to happen to you" part.

I also think we should know what plans you have in place if something were to happen to you or you were to become unavailable so we can get our money back or that it gets forwarded to the correct builder...

Thanks!

Really? I will start by saying thank you for ordering your amp from us, I do appreciate it. Also seeing how you posted this here instead of picking up the phone and calling me at 401-932-5464 I will reply here.

You put down a deposit on a amp that hasn't even been released yet to the market anywhere in the USA (The Jerry Cantrell) and you seem upset your not the first guy in America to have one?

We haven't even got the first JJ yet and that first one we get btw goes to you. To my knowledge these have not even rolled off the production floor yet for america.

As far as what happens with deposits on amps it goes into our shop quickbooks checking account. When your amp is ready we collect the balance and have it shipped to you same as its been for all of the Friedman orders. We have a long established relationship with Friedman and when we order the amps they take the order and allot us the amps. We send them money all the time for completed orders. Over $100K int he last 6 months btw.

We are very clear upfront when you put down the deposit that we order the amp for you and commit to it which we did with the Rob at Friedman Amps the same day you made the deposit. We then own that order, they dont let us cancel your order. As for saying Dave Friedman doesn't have your $500 depsoit your right he doesnt, thats not how it works.

He is the builder and has nothing to do with the sales, thats his partner Rob who handles all of those sales and who we order from. Im not even sure how much Rob and Dave speak about individual sales more totals and what they need to fill run orders. Dave is the creative and Rob is the marketer.

Rob is well aware of all of the orders and we send him much money all the time. Rob is shipping Amps for us all the time. Today 3 more Smallboxes and 1 BE100 and another BE100 on Monday are going out. You will get the very first Jerry Cantrell they call me and say is ready and it will ship directly to you from Friedman as planned. If you have any other questions please pick up the phone and call me I am very easy to reach.

Brad

This is not how it works in MI. We take a deposit and order the product using either our house line with a vendor or on our word based on past dealings. THey know if we order it we are taking it. If we don't we don't get to be a dealer anymore, simple as that. I am the client for the builder not my clients. They only care that I pay them, what I do with the product is not their business.

Without knowing the full content of the discussions you guys had, I would think that unless Brad specifically said it would be ready by such and such a date, his answer was pretty thorough and concise. Besides, I ordered a table that was supposed to be in stock and ended up waiting 3+ months. At least you know you are on the radar and will be getting it once they ship! I also don't think you'll be getting #1. 1- 3 will probably go to Jerry Cantrell himself... Now if you start seeing vids of them all over the net then you might have an axe to grind over the #1 thing but is it really that valuable? Maybe to have the first one off the production line for resale down the line?

As for the other BE related wait times, I guess the amps are common enough now that you can either wait for the ones to be shipped through the dealers or go get the ones which were prioritized by the builder for store shelves. That is most likely the marketing side of things.

Friedman is a pisser on wait times...I can vouch for that with the Marshall mods he did for me through Brad...no problem with Brad, but Dave IS a pisser...

At least you know you'll get your amp.

If I was tired of waiting I would sell my place in line right here on the classifieds. Same as quite a few did with the Cameron amp line.

Dude, you're the low man on the totem pole. Get with the program.

You think Brad puts the money into his personal safe behind his Picasso in his bedroom? Your deposit is with King Guitars, NOT Brad King. He already told you that your deposit goes into the shops account.

All you're doing is putting down a deposit to order an amp that hasn't been made yet. If you're unhappy then maybe ask for your deposit back and buy one from another store when they are officially released. Its pretty lame for you to post a thread on here rather than calling or emailing him.

As far as you asking Dave Friedman if he had your money.....really?! I sent King Guitars a deposit of over $1500 for a Tom Anderson guitar in Feb, but would I ask Tom if he had my money?

I guess I don't know, but did you actually call him?

Brad wipes his ass with $500 bills. You may just get one back...nice and stinky

just sayin'...

Brad you're still tap dancing around the questions. I have no problems posting the PMs where you made guarantees you CANNOT follow through on.

YOU made a deal you had no business making and YOU keep twisting the words in your favor.

Thats not true. The story is I was at NAMM and you saw pictures of the new JJ Head. You wanted first in and I immediately spoke with Rob and got my order in and I told you you would get my first JJ as you were first on the list. Nothing has changed, somehow you turned that into you would be getting the first JJ in the world. I never said you would get the NAMM JJ or an amp before Jerry. I said you would get our first cantrell we got in and I have the first dealer order in for them.

You were good to go all the way up to a few weeks ago and then you got upset because you were trying to work a deal to get one elsewhere. Thats what I remember.

Nobody hasn't got what they ordered from me so I am not sure what the big conspiracy is here. There are no Jerry Cantrells in the world other than on tour qwith Jerry and you somehow are piossed at me that you dont have one. I dont get it.

AND... Those. 4 amps you mentioned that are going out.... Yeah it's only because of the post in the Friedman forum where people were asking where their amps were.

One guy has been waiting on you for a BE100 since May? When you can go to a Guitar Center and get one off the shelf? That's BS.

Again you dont know what your talking about. We have been shipping smallboxes, BE100's and Steve Stevens Heads for the last three weeks. We get 3 a week on Smallboxes and had a long list. I thought we would get them in one shot but it was 3 shots. THe last ones leaving today not that its any of your business. .

This has nothing to do with wait times. I knew from the get go this would be a while. It has to do with not being able to fulfill guarantees. So we shall see what happens...

I still want to know what is going to happen to our deposits if something were to happen to Brad...

You will get your amp 1000%. If your so worried about it call me today and pay off your balance and we will send it to Friedman same day in advance for your head and they can confirm they have it which is not at all how we do business but if that makes you feel better thats fine with me.
