.....at Maken' Music. Damn, what a great amp. I tried it with both a Mesa OS 4x12 with V30's and a Bogner 4x12 with GB's. I preferd the Bogner by a long shot. The Mesa was just too woofy sounding. The Bogner sounded more like a great Marshall cabinet which to me is what this amp is looking for.

It's probabably one of the better sounding 3 channel amps I've played. Most are usually lacking on one or more of the channels but IMO it definately sounded like something I could work with. What I liked most was all the channels sounded like an extension of the clean channel. I hate when you switch channels and it sounds like you're playing a different amp. It's definately in the Marshall camp. The clean sounded great. Plexi-ish and chimey with a good amount of headroom. Plenty of gain on the rhythm channel. The bottom stayed nice and focused and the lead channel wasn't as compressed as I was expecting which is a good thing. Ch1 and 2 share an EQ but they have their own 5 way bright so it's pretty easy to get the tone you need from each. It has a built in attenuater which was cool and a negative feedback control to dial in tight or spongy. And to top it off it's cheaper than other boutique builders that don't have half the options. No, unfortunately I didn't take it home but it might be in the future.

Good ol' Canadian lads here, men!! Good ol' canuckers!! :salute: :salute: :salute: :salute:

PWE is gaining some serious traction globally. I saw 2 of their heads in an engineering/recording studio in Osaka at the end of last year. I know they've been getting some attention by the bigger sponsored cats too - as they're just "checking them out"...not "playing" them, ahem.

No sweat. I tell it like it is.

I would like to check out the 100w version since I'm a 100w kinda guy.

I think I played that same amp at "maken' money". Pretty much came to the same conclusion too.
Definitely a nice sounding and balanced (channel to channel) amp. If I wasn't trying to save up for a Pultec EQ and some 500 series mic pres, I probably would have walked out with it. If PWE changed the offer from Molson to Labatt Blue I might!
I do think I would want to try the 100 watter first though. To my ears they usually have a tighter/ fuller low end than 50 watters.

What amp have you been gigging with lately Paul?

About pulled the trigger on their ebay store twice this week.
Kinda scared about channel 2 as I have read that it sounds like the clean channel on the SLO with the crunch switch on and I don't care for that sound much.

My trusty Friedman Marshall.

Hey Alex, we're back in your neck of the woods but not until May.

It's been a while since I played an SLO but I'd say the YT clips are fairly close to what I came up with today.

Here's a video of Doug playing on channel 2 with one of my guitars.

It's capable of a bit more gain then what's shown there too but cleans op nice with the guitars volume.

thanks for posting that again, that and the other ones you posted last week are where the gas is coming from
I think Doug might just be my new favorite guitar player. Such tasty and talented playing.

Is there more gain on tap than he used in this clip on channel 2?

On my list of amps to try for sure! Might make a Chicago trip this summer. BTW, the Mesa Traditional cabs are sooo much better sounding than the oversized, especially with that kind of amp.

I have the 100 watt two channel, and it absolutely kills. I want to check out the three channel so bad!!! Ted you are building great stuff as always!
