The fact Paul liked it enough to post, would make me take a bit of a drive to try one.
There aint much that impresses me anymore. :dunno:

I also tried the Carol Ann TripR while I was there.......I'll skip posting a thread on that one. :scared:

:hys: :hys: :hys:
somehow that does not suprise me!

But does it sound better with Creambacks or LynchBacks? Does it sound creamy like a Marshall for 90's grunge like a 20th Shiva? :D ;)

I wonder how the clean channel takes pedals? I find that the 20th Shiva's clean channel takes pedals better than any other amp out there. Well, except maybe for the Electradyne, which takes pedals really well too. The 20th Shiva is the best amp Bogner makes - it blows away all of the other Bogners. I'm interested in Splawns, but am worried there might be too many similarities with the PWE. The PWE is the best channel switcher I've ever played. I can't imagine ever needing another amp. I really only need one or two channels, max. I just ordered an Ecstasy.

You know, I have a pretty good sense of humour and this shit is pretty funny but if your company was the target of this stuff it would stop being so funny real quick. At this point you're just begging the guy to make a comeback. :D

Please dear Lord, let it end. :D

You should checkout Orange amps. The 20th Shiva has better clean, better gain, better everything than the regular Shiva. I'm going to order a Street Rod this Summer. Are Creambacks or Lynchbacks better for 90's grunge? The PWE is the best Marshall period but I may sell the PWE and the Street Rod for an XTC. The EL34 Shiva has a better creamy gain structure over the 20th, the 20th is too compressed and too much gain. I hate metal and shred.

I have that times 150 in my inbox.

internet hype :D

I've thought the Event Horizon was almost certainly the real deal after I saw the clips PWE made of the new one last spring that were posted on TGP.

I deleted a bunch of PM's and my first 2 pages are still all Rich. Love ya Rich. :D

Nah, nothing in Toronto. I don't even know if there are any stores there that would carry this kind of "boteek" stuff. (say the word boteek in a James Earl Jones voice for best effect)

Yes there is. You need to contact a place such as Moog Audio. They deal with this kind of "stuff".

I'm only saying this because I'd love to be able to try one out up here. Seeing that you folks are in Quebec, it shouldn't be so much of an issue. Have you contacted Andy at Diffusion Audio in Montreal?

What a great both sounding and looking amp!

Does it get those 'chewy' mids? :D

It's about 50% chewy mids and 50% haunting mids. :)
I've been playing Cornford and Vox (cleans) for the last 5 years. Via Cornford YouTube clips - or by any actual Cornford amps you may have played, how would you compare the PWE sound to the Cornford sound? Did you use any pedals, or is that straight into the PWE?

Yep. The Guitar Shop in Mississauga sells Bogner, so they might be interested in taking on PWE as well.......

That would be the other suggestion I would make. I've known Brent who owns the shop for more than 20+ years. He is a smart businessman. Cheap-ass on trade ins but that is probably why he is still in business!

:)

I just read this in the manual:

"Please note, it is normal to hear a slight pop when switching channels due to the use of relays. We feel this is best for signal integrity."

Really? There's a pop when you switch channels? That could be a deal breaker.

Paul, did you notice this when you tried the amp out?

It's very, very slight, not a loud thud. If it were at all signficant, Guitar Player Magazine would have mentioned it, believe me, they nitpicked the hell out of that thing. You can look at the videos again and listen closely when Doug switches channels, do you hear anything?

I used the switches on front of the amp to do the switching and noticed no pop.

Pretty much nothing there at all. It's the same whether you use the footswitch or front panel switches. Some preamp tubes leak a tiny amount of DC and can cause a slight tick when switching. I put that in the manual so nobody would freak out and think the amp is defective. Pop is maybe the wrong word.

Hey Ted, I noticed you have two different types of switches on the front of the amp for channel switching. Which style are you currently using?
