So I checked out the 50w PWE Event Horizon 3 today....

You guys are probably killing the dude that bid farewell...ha.

Anyway, sounds like a killer amp. Any amp that has a nice clean channel and the dirty side sounds like an extension of that gets my vote.

But does it sound better with Creambacks or LynchBacks? Does it sound creamy like a Marshall for 90's grunge like a 20th Shiva? :D ;)

Yeah, Ted and the gang at PWE are making one hell of a killer amp!

I'm in the market for an amp this year and the Doug Rappoport vids they posted helped me make my mind up.

Now all I need is for the $$$ to come in sooner.........

Good ol' Canadian lads here, men!! Good ol' canuckers!! :salute: :salute: :salute: :salute:

PWE is gaining some serious traction globally. I saw 2 of their heads in an engineering/recording studio in Osaka at the end of last year. I know they've been getting some attention by the bigger sponsored cats too - as they're just "checking them out"...not "playing" them, ahem.

Special for today only, free case of Molson Canadian with every amp purchase, eh? :D

Thanks man!
No way man, gotta keep it, like, real... Pilsner, eh?? Just gotta give 'er.

I wonder how the clean channel takes pedals? I find that the 20th Shiva's clean channel takes pedals better than any other amp out there. Well, except maybe for the Electradyne, which takes pedals really well too. The 20th Shiva is the best amp Bogner makes - it blows away all of the other Bogners. I'm interested in Splawns, but am worried there might be too many similarities with the PWE. The PWE is the best channel switcher I've ever played. I can't imagine ever needing another amp. I really only need one or two channels, max. I just ordered an Ecstasy.

:D I can't help but find those jokes funny either... even Rich must at this point. Not many get to stand out in forums. He's one of the lucky ones!

that said, lynchbacks/greenbacks in an X patter were his favourite but he also liked small block speakers which were really awesome and better than lynchbacks but not quite as good as creambacks which were still a little lacking when compared to webers which cost too much so he went back to creambacks but found that the cut of all greenbacks were the best. WGS makes great speakers too though so really, green beret/retro 30's are an awesome combo and i would go all retro 30's if they didn't sound so similar to lynchbacks which are the absolute best...

I went ahead or ordered a Splawn Street rod because the Royal Atlantic has the biggest footprint I've ever heard. I bet it sounds great with Lynchbacks, that's why I'm ordering Creambacks to go with the Street Rod. My 20th Shiva has the best hot rodded Marshall tone ever but I want to get a Marshall sounding amp to go with Greenbacks. I just ordered Lynchbacks, I wonder how they sound with Orange amps. Orange amps are the best channel switchers on the planet period. I hate metal and shred and love grunge, I also hate XTC's. I'm selling my PWE to fund an XTC.

You know, I have a pretty good sense of humour and this shit is pretty funny but if your company was the target of this stuff it would stop being so funny real quick. At this point you're just begging the guy to make a comeback. :D

Please dear Lord, let it end. :D

I may have to stop in and check that out, but all I can see is $270 in Sales Tax - that isn't going to happen.

The fact Paul liked it enough to post, would make me take a bit of a drive to try one.

No probs, Ted.

I've actually been wanting to check out the EH for some time now. I like the fact that they are made right here in Canad-eh, just a couple of hours from where I grew up (Kingston). Unfortunately, I do not know of any retailers in the Toronto area that carry your amps. Are there any?

Thanks!

Rob

Nah, nothing in Toronto. I don't even know if there are any stores there that would carry this kind of "boteek" stuff. (say the word boteek in a James Earl Jones voice for best effect)

You should checkout Orange amps. The 20th Shiva has better clean, better gain, better everything than the regular Shiva. I'm going to order a Street Rod this Summer. Are Creambacks or Lynchbacks better for 90's grunge? The PWE is the best Marshall period but I may sell the PWE and the Street Rod for an XTC. The EL34 Shiva has a better creamy gain structure over the 20th, the 20th is too compressed and too much gain. I hate metal and shred.
