Hey Ted, I noticed you have two different types of switches on the front of the amp for channel switching. Which style are you currently using?

The lever type, much more solid and reliable than the pushbuttons.

I just read this in the manual:

"Please note, it is normal to hear a slight pop when switching channels due to the use of relays. We feel this is best for signal integrity."

Really? There's a pop when you switch channels? That could be a deal breaker.

Paul, did you notice this when you tried the amp out?

It's very, very slight, not a loud thud. If it were at all signficant, Guitar Player Magazine would have mentioned it, believe me, they nitpicked the hell out of that thing. You can look at the videos again and listen closely when Doug switches channels, do you hear anything?

Ted:

Thanks for responding. I don't mean to be alarmist - I just hate it when you get loud pops from an amp when switching channels. I'm glad to hear this isn't an issue.

Here's the latest one. Doug runs through all 3 channels.

Wow.....definitely going to take a closer look at this amp at some point! Very nicely done!

Love the tones out of it! Could listen to Doug playing anytime! Fantastic!

Thx for sharing!!!

This is an old thread....
But one important note. The amp does not have a built in attenuator. It is actually meant to act more like a variac.
Turning down and the amp softens and the attack is less immediate.
You can read about this in the manual.

Thanks for an amazing amplifier, Ted!!!

Due to serious health issues, I don't play much these days....but I will never get rid of my PWE.
