Really, you guys don't know why Friedman and Fortin charge what they charge? Half the guys on this forum start giggling like school girls when they find out something new is coming from one of those two makers.
But thats okay, getting excited about something keeps the hobby interesting. But, it doesn't cost $4K retail to only turn a marginal profit on simple 2ch amps. Friedman stuff and the Soldano SLO come to mind. Mesa is a great example of getting a lot for your money, they built 3 channel amps with multiple switching etc. for right at or under $2K.
Diezels are pricey, but look what you get. For one they have import taxes tacked on, but you get 4ch amps loaded with midi, multiple loops, switching, led's, etc. Far from a simple 2ch amp.
