Well Paypal has screwed me over the Kamran Kavian deal. Reverb called me a couple of times promising to do something, but they stopped responding to my emails two weeks ago and charged my account the bill for the transaction. I'm done using Paypal for anything whatsoever. I fucking hate Paypal. I'm also pretty much done using Reverb to buy or sell. Everything is so fucked these days. If you're not getting screwed by Paypal, eBay, or Reverb, you get fucked by UPS and FedEx. You can't even trade anymore without worrying every moment your gear is in transit that it might be lost or damaged.

LUCKILY, I spent a few bucks out of my pocket and was able to restore my amp back like new again. I still gotta get a new foot switch, but even thought I basically got screwed out of $60 for shipping from Paypal, $100 parts, and $54 from Reverb - basically screwed out of $214 in the end.

By the way, I'm not going to let this go. I will pursue and investigation of Kavian's criminal enterprise and sooner or later he'll be in jail.

Did you ever call reverb about the bill for a sale that never happened?

Also what did he do to the backpanel and footswitch? Guy sounds like a scumbag.

Just curious, what criminal offence did he commit? He's clearly a douche nozzle, but nothing illegal about that.

I've been investigating the guy for a while. You would have had to follow the previous thread to understand, but basically he's a fraud who has a long history of ripping people off. He uses fake names and phony businesses in his dealings. I'm 99.9% certain that someone like him with his history of fraud has perpetrated several criminal acts at one time or another. Once I uncover some more of his past deaings and connections, it's only a matter of time before he goes to jail. Besides, just because Paypal gave him a refund doesn't mean that he hasn't done anything unlawful.

It's a criminal offense to commit fraud and damage someone else's stuff. He lied in writing about the functioning of the amplifier, he opened it and used it when he was supposed to return it unopened, then he sent it back damaged. That's a crime dude. The thing is that the authorities won't do anything about it until I go through a court process which is impractical. There are a million crimes that go unpunished because most people can't afford and don't want to drag things out in court. He definitely committed a crime, that's obvious. Do I have the means to drag him through court, no. However, I know from what I've investigated that he's got a real shady past, and according to people who've dealt with him before, he's frauded them too. Therefore, if I can get the evidence together of his past dealings whether in gear, real estate, or whatever other phony ventures he's undertaken, I can get him investigated.

My God, you sound like a woman scorned. Over and over again, thread after thread. We get it, you got shit on by a buyer. Just be glad you got your amp back. Cut your losses and move on. And, all this talk about getting the guy put in jail because you are investigating him like you are a PI, gimmie a break already. Newsflash: He's not going to be arrested. There are a ton of shady individuals like this guy out there. For the most part, the police couldn't care less. You're just wasting your time.

I'm not his friend. I'm just stating the obvious.

Sorry to hear man! I see so many people having issues with PayPal and Ebay etc but I've never had an issue that wasn't resolved.

When ever I had a sale I usually ask the dude to add on Facebook so I can see some background, if I see he's in bands etc then I'm usually happy. If it's Ebay then I ensure they've bought other things and has good ratings.

If some dude pops up with poor language, weird offers or anything that doesn't feel right then I instantly ignore. Even if they don't know much about the kit they are buying...instantly ignored.

I keep screenshots and records of everything, when ever there is a problem I forward the evidence to Ebay/PayPal/Reverb (they prefer that to a phone call or a long E-mail) with a small cover letter and sit back.

I've never had an issue using PayPal as if you have all the evidence and used buyer protection you are protected by their policy. Same with postage, get it insured and include it in the price, take pictures all over so you have evidence. Job done.

Patience has also saved me, rather than an urgent risky sale... Ill wait till the perfect one.

Would be awesome if you were able to get this guy thrown in jail. Then you could show up on visiting day and he'd be like ,"Who the fuck is this guy?" Then you'd be all, " Remember that Bogner, Bitch? Oh snap! What's up now?!"

Bigmouth. You don't know jack shit, and you obviously didn't read anything entirely, so you don't even know your facts. It's easy to open your big fucking mouth and tell someone to stop whining when you're not the one who got screwed. I'm far from being a woman, and if you had the balls to leave your keyboard, I wouldn't mind demonstrating that for you. Besides, it's kind of a duty to inform and warn people so other people don't get screwed, so just shut the fuck up if you don't have anything useful to contribute. Unlike you, I don't sit behind a keyboard and acquiesce to being fucked by some con artist.

I don't like it when the people I trade with on these forums get fucked either. If you had any appreciation for the gear trade, then you'd realize how precious this community is. We thrive on honest trade. If it weren't for these forums, we'd be relegated to getting shit prices for our trades at Guitar Center or getting constantly fucked on eBay and Reverb. So seriously, just shut the fuck up when it comes to people getting ripped off.

did you speak to someone at paypal?

Yeah a couple of times. I pretty much got nowhere on the first call because the dipshit who answered pretty much misunderstood everything I asked because she was apparently preoccupied with something else. The second time, I didn't really get anywhere because they pretty much left me at "they're reviewing your appeal." From the way they answered, it didn't sound like they cared one bit that it was not returned in original condition. Without expressly saying so, they pretty much told me that the whole "returned in original condition" thing is pretty much nothing but lip service.

I talked to Reverb on the phone a couple of times, but that hasn't gone anywhere. They stopped replying to my emails 2 weeks ago, and I still got charged the bill for that transaction. I think they only call on the phone to pay lip service and make it sound like they'll do something, but I haven't seen shit yet. If they do, it will probably be weeks before anything gets resolved. I was without my amp for 3 weeks already. It has nearly been a month now.

reverb still charged you?? that seems odd.

Yeah, I got a notice that the charge to my Paypal account failed. It failed because I said fuck Paypal and won't ever use them again, so I'll have to pay Reverb directly. $54 bucks for the transaction.

the sale didn't go through though. i thought you only paid reverb when the buyer pays and keeps the item, not when it gets returned.

12 years as a buyer 100% feedback, ive had a couple issues but paypal took care of it.

No problem from Reverb, both paypal & Reverb answer the phone.

IDK why you think coming here is going to fix it.

Waaa! Waaa!

YOU don't know jack shit and you do sound like a woman scorned. The guy is not going to jail just because you got fucked over. Believe it or not, you aren't the center of the universe, ya lil' bitch. Fine, you made a thread letting everyone know what happened so that it doesn't happen to them. Then you made another thread, and another thread, and another thread, etc. Stop your goddamn whining and move on! Put on a fresh new dress and get on with your life sweetie. Despite what keep saying, the police aren't going to do anything with this guy, sunshine. You're just too dumb to realize this.

Dipshit (here comes Kavian's little bitch friend to his rescue). You just made a fool of yourself. I never said he was going to jail for what he did to me. I said what he did was a crime, but he's going to jail for other crimes he's involved in because the hound is now on his trail. That's what you get for opening your big mouth without knowing your facts. I posted this stuff here to keep others from getting screwed over. You're evidently "too dumb to realize this." By the way, you're welcome to show me what a man you are big keyboard hero. We'll see who wears the dress in the end. You talk a lot of shit for someone with a 24 post count whose been here since March. I've done a hundred high-dollar deals on these forums. Who the fuck are you to think you can say jack shit? Imbecile.
