It is, but boy do they need a manager. Cliff might be a technical genius but he knows nothing about PR, sales and communication.

Then they'll increase the price because they had to hire some Dilbert-esque PR dweeb.

I can find better PR agents at my local Home Depot. They only cost like $2 or so an hour for a flock of them, too.

"Ey mang, dis shitz guuuuuud. Buy eeeet!"

I don't get how he claims he can't ship 100 units in a day. With one person working a full 9-5 work schedule, that's roughly 6 packages every 30 minutes. With two people, it's cut in half. I used to work for one of the largest car detailing companies in the entire US, and we'd ship HUNDREDS of packages with just two people without a problem. That means grabbing the order, finding it on the shelf, making a box, packing the product, printing the shipping label and setting it aside for the UPS truck to come pick up at around 3 PM or whenever it was. If he's that desperate for staff, maybe he should consider hiring some people to help process orders for him...

That would cut into their forum browsing schedule.

The Axe FX has a moderator sim and detects bad vibes. That's what the USB is for.

the strangest disorder about GAS is the obsessive need to be first to own a new product

it normally goes hand in hand with the same person wanting desperately to be able to speak from a position of authority, and not being able to from a skilled playing ability or real world experience perspective

Best way to put it Pat. Nothing reads more like mud than some typed multi paragraph summation from the same people over and over again and you have no clue where they are coming from.

The real eye opener is when that amp goes to someone that you know and the review is quite different..............

Not 100% defending Cliff with his awesome post but the stories I here from builders regarding guys calling every day for status, kicking tires, asking stupid questions, etc is priceless and I bet it felt good to pound a few of them with that response.

One example was a builder on a forum reading a thread where there was a question regarding options, he receives a call from ********* asking the same question, and 4 minutes later the guy was posting that he spoke with the builder and went on to state how everyone was wrong

What Cliff is really asking for is for some serious competitors to come in and feed him his ass while reducing his large ego.
It seems he doesn't care who he pisses off or how. Not a good move.

I'd look for one of two things to happen a new well funded competitor emerges with seemingly better modeling technology or Fractal sells out to a a large existing competitor. Cliff's not doing things the way that builds customer loyalty or anything as he has a captive audience...at least for now.
If the economy were better there would already have been formidable competitors.

How Things Work, Shipping, Etc.

Listen you bunch of indignant whiners:

We can only physically process so many orders a day. If we were to dump 100 units in the store they would undoubtedly sell out that same day. There is no way we could ship 100 units the next day. So then people would be bitching and moaning that their unit hasn't shipped yet.

So we put a certain number of units into the store each day that we know we can fulfill the following day.

Today those units sold out in 90 seconds which I found humorous but those with impaired funny bones took as an affront.

Tomorrow more units will be placed in the store. The next day we will again place units in the store and so on.

This is the way it works. If you don't like it or feel insulted by it or by what I have written then don't buy it.

A lot of you need to check your attitudes at the door. The amount of self-entitlement being displayed is absolutely revolting.

This isn't what he actually posted, is it? If so, I would reconsider buying from them. While I certainly see his point (and the Fractal board is indeed filled with self-entitled dipshits) I'm not sure I'd care to deal with a company that interfaces with their clientele like this.

It is and I am not buying from them again. Actually, I am selling my Ultra.

That has me second guessing this then. Let me repeat; I actually agree with him. It's just that the way in which he chooses to interface with potential customers is pretty appalling, and this isn't a cheap device. There are plenty of small builders in various areas that do a better job of communicating with customers. See Starr Labs, for one. Their product is a lot more complex, yet they're able to speak with customers in a polite, calm manner, and actually deliver product.

Fractal hardware still fetching some pretty good prices at the moment. I did run across this while searching ebay for used units :scared:

Agreed, providing both are new and not 'broken in' upon delivery, we have a deal.

Here's the thing; I've met Cliff a couple of times, and in person, he's a very cool guy.

In my mind, the Fractal Fanatics are the gear equivalent of Trekkies or Star Wars fans; a bunch of fucking dorks with a VERY narrow outlook, and this is their version of camping out four days prior to the release of a new movie. First their panties get all wet with anticipation, then they find something to whine about, and keep it up incessantly. No wonder he's annoyed.

I'm fairly certain Cliff really WOULD be happier without them as customers.

I guess I just find it hard to get THAT wound up about ANY piece of gear (and I own an Axe Fx)

WTF is wrong with people
