I have gone to Cliff's shop a few times when I bought an axe and to check out his Atomic stuff, he was always super cool and very nice. Owning a company like that where you have to wear every hat is a pretty daunting task and his customers are a bit fanatical. Its is easy to say oh just hire a PR/shipping or whoever person, but hiring the right person and also finding the budget are another thing all together. The guys probably already works more hours in a week than most do in two. He invented a pretty amazing product and I just cut him some slack. I would have told those people to fuck off even sooner LOL.

I don't doubt all of that for a second, the guy is obviously incredibly dedicated, just has a short fuse it seems.
Short fuse!?!? The guy has the patience of Job. I would have told all those pathetic losers to fuck off and shut down the forums long ago.

Brad, I just read that Fractal only released 6 units today...!!! Only 6!!! My 10-20 a day estimate was way off...if they only do 6 a day then it will almost surely be a steady (although very small) flow...a second "wave" looks very unlikely at that rate...he'll get new boards/parts in well before he runs out of the first batch of parts...

Originally it was thought to be the end of June for the second wave, I've just got a bad feeling that's WAY off at only 6 units a day...!!! I do hope I'm wrong though...! Unless they decide to fulfill all your preorders at the same time...which would be cool!

Did you unload your old axefx to fund this new one?

Are you without any type of guitar signal reproduction?

I've never had an AxeFx...just trying to get one.

And no I don't have anything now, I sold my TRIAXIS/Gforce combo to fund the AxeII...

Why do you ask?

Sucks not having gear but at least you got rid of that stuff you did not like or enjoyed

The trend of today seems to be:

We ship when and how many we want: You will get when we ship: Pay money down, get date, date is possible, probable. Whiners and forum cred walkers need to know whats up. We ship when we get.

To bad we cannot pay when these mysterious magical musical machines actually ship. I guess since banks do not finance businesses any longer the general forum member has to....

You got to get in line Tim.......then contemplate your gear decision while waiting. Its the new trend for financing the builders. I will build you something if it is "zero risk" to me and all the liability is on you. But, if takes longer than expected then you are just out of fucking luck my friend.

Jesus, what drama. Fractal is gonna sell every one they make. If that's not success, then what is?

If it is true about the wedding
That the funniest thing ever

A pearl of wisdom in this whinefest

Fractal had better hope Line6 or another competitor doesn't step up to the plate with a new improved version. I think a lot of people would buy something that was nearly as good and foreign made that was instantly available. I own a Standard, great piece of gear, but I'm not going to jump through hoops and flash my decoder ring for the privilege of spending my hard earned cash. I'll wait until the hoopla dies down or just use my standard.

There is a guy who posted on the fractal forum this morning that he actually missed his friends wedding yesterday just to stay in front of the computer refreshing the screen trying to get one of these things.....unbelievable!

That's :loco: :loco: :loco:

Being new to Rig Talk, I've been reading the Axe-FX posts with interest. At first, I read them because I was truly interested in what all the noise was about, I.E. best modeling device ever, kills POD, kills Elevenrack, etc. But then I was compelled to continue to read the posts because of the debacle Fractal marketing has become. There are multiple examples throughout marketing history where a company with a superior product available at a time where market demand was high ultimately failed because of their less than adequate customer support and inability to meet said demand. Trust me, if Fractal doesn't learn the "The Customer Is Always Right" mantra and improve their ability to meet demand quickly, a competitor will do so with a new product.

How do I know this?

I'm a Senior Product Manager with 15 years experience responsible for a $200M product line at a globally successful consumer electronics company. ;)

These guys are morons if they think this type of attitude and lack of availability will fly for long. Any product manager reading this stuff that is working on a competitive product is grinning from ear to ear.

You work with RIM...??

Well, regardless, there's a mess of proprietary stuff in the Fractal boxes, but yer right, there's also a LOT of money to be made from inside those boxes, and ANY wizened investment team would disect, analyze, rebuild, and better the guts, and get it out there within a few months. It would be devastating to Fractal. They've got a sweet pocket right now, a monopoly... Rarely do these last.

Crazy.

I watch for almost every IPO, it's a hobby... Scaled back a bit since I'm a family man now, but my swing weight was substantial back in the day; tolerable as a cat who didn't care about consequences, too stressful now with future in mind. Seeing the balances go up and down $500K a day was a bit unnerving, but hey, when the sun shone, it shone very brightly :D

Peace,
V.

PS - so whaddya got up yer sleeve??
