I am a happy Axe FX Ultra user, owning 2 of them. As such, I just don't get people going crazy over what is, basically, a tool. It's not going to magically give you amazing playing or production skills, transform you in your idols, or make you sound godly right out of the box, so why go nuts over it? :\

Bullshit. Everyone knows that if you use your idols gear and patches that you WILL be magically transformed into that player, with his or her skills, and also warped into a new plane of existence well above your peers. Well, except if you want to be Steve Vai. Yes you can play Steve's gear and get close, but you have to go the extra mile and have at least dual 16" floor fans blowing your hair back while you play, otherwise you just won't cut it.

Sweet I hope it stays that way...that would mean yours are on the way to you since they started shipping yesterday...

The only bad thing here might be that if they are only doing 10 a day or so, then when would the "second wave" even begin??? For example, at 10-20 a day (estimate), there really isn't a "wave" so to speak...it's more just a flow. He's not dumping everything he has onto the store at one time and then waiting for more parts/units to arrive for the "second wave". Now, maybe he'll run out of current parts before the second wave of parts hits him, but if not it'll just be a constant flow of units per day...and if that happens then when would Tone Merchants get their second order?!?!

Yes, I'm in the second "wave"! As if you couldn't tell...lol!

My 10-20 a day estimate was way off...if they only do 6 a day then it will almost surely be a steady (although very small) flow...a second "wave" looks very unlikely at that rate...he'll get new boards/parts in well before he runs out of the first batch of parts...

And no I don't have anything now, I sold my TRIAXIS/Gforce combo to fund the AxeII...

6 per day and the backlog (including old Ultra orders) was 1000 units in May already.

I guess my Ultra will rise in value again pretty quickly. I am selling it anyhow.

Man that really blows. If I had an Ultra or Standard right now or even had heard one in person, I would be good to go. I have money and want to buy an Axe-FX II and can't because 9,000 other people want one. Ugh.

" This is the biggest farce I have ever seen.

I sold my ULTRA shortly after the announcement. I was lucky enough to get what I paid for it as the buyer was from overseas and he was grateful not to have to sit on a G66 waiting list. I planned on getting an AXE II, but gave up and went an entirely different route, as I decided that I liked my Fender HRD just fine and didn't need 54 other models to distract me. I invested in a couple of Eventide stomps and built myself a pedaltrain pro with several other stomps as well. After adding a 2nd HRD I can honestly say that I am in tonal heaven. I love having real knobs to adjust my tone on the fly, as opposed to menus and midi, etc.

The misadventure of Cliff's AXE FX II launch is a textbook case for the ages of how NOT to launch a new product. First off he screwed the late adopters, with an ill-conceived countdown to a product that was not available, and now, to suit his own convenience, he is screwing hundreds, if not thousands of potential customers with this ridiculous charade of random 1 minute availability.

Shame on Cliff and shame on all of you for enabling this shocking fiasco.
