Plus one, no way they sound as good without the cool name.

He asked that his posts and account at the Gear Page be deleted. Suppose he doesn't want to start a big thing over this and just move on. Jim's silence is telling though....

He has jumped through hoops and spent a lot of his time and money creating and re-creating killer speakers (cabinets, and other goodies) for us guitar players.
Well, not if he's just relabeling Webers.

This is the first I've heard anything about it. Where are the original links that sparked the controversy?

What I understood about Scumback and Weber is there was a working relationship between them. Scumback ordered a series that Weber designed and built for them. Either way, the M series Scumback have a magnet size that doesn't match any of the Legacy models.

I was under the impression Jim had Ted weber tweak a design over four years time based on the comparison to the vast collection jim acquired. Weber then built the final designs for Jim and jim would relabel them, break them in FBI style and some secret techniques that may involve doping but no one will ever know but Jim. It seems jim was looking into other manufacturing and weber got wind of it and decided to pull out and offer the speaker themselves.

All of this is speculation of course, don't accept it as fact.

If you do some research you'll find that weber rounds their magnet weights so 40oz is really about 35oz. On another note all I care about is sounding the best while spending as little money as possible to do so, I could care less if someone that I will never meet is a good guy. And I doubt some d-bag sales associate at guitar center ever wanted my business because I was a good honest guy. 99% sure these are scumbacks, and will order some soon.
