So who called out of work to play Halo 3?

Lol Sony is about my least favorite company, ever.

I hate anything that is a rip off. M$ is pretty much the king of ripping people off.

Seriously, are you going to argue that you SHOULD NOT get a map editor with that game? Ever noticed how basically ever single PC game, of any sort, has one, INCLUDING HALO 1 AND 2? If they released the Halo games for PC without map editors, they would fail miserably, and M$ knows it. But they "mysteriously" hold off the PC releases, until they have made sure they milked people dry on Xbox Live with crappy maps that they charge for.

And yet, the fanboys will go nuts over how "unique" the forge mode is.

Anytime there's a thread about games, you do nothing but bitch. Doesn't even matter what the topic is, you find something to complain about.

Well, after playing the solo mission for about 3 hours yesterday and all of us playing multiplayer (instead of our usual GoW): it's ok, but GoW beats it easy.
It's a fun game and the graphics are nice, but it doesn't blow me away.

It's a great game man. I finished is yesterday on Legendary with 2 of my buddies! I loved every single minute of playing through this game.
It was not a short game by any means. I think playing coop with a friend or 2 is the way to go to enjoy this game to it's full potential.

After spending 5-6 hours playing the campaign and multi player yesterday, I came away impressed for the most part. I'm not sure if Halo 3 has the longevity of Gears, but I'm enjoying it so far. I'm going to try out some ranked matches today to see how the online rankings system works and maybe try to different game types. Anyways, its Halo---if you like the last 2 you will like this, if not then you probably won't. My biggest disappointment is certainly the graphics--there are jaggies all over. Not to say it doesn't look nice, but its a step below the 360's best---Gears, Bioshock, and Oblivion. That said it runs smoothly and can handle a ton of action on the screen at once. The audio, however, is amazing.

On another note, I picked up Eternal Sonata the other day and so far (4-5 hours in) it is a fantastic JRPG. If you can get by the somewhat kiddie voice acting its a seriously cool game.

The graphics are definitely nothing special, which was really surprising. I figured it would be almost in the same league with Gears Of War, but it isn't even close.

I was going to buy Eternal Sonata, but I have Blue Dragon which is awesome and I heard Eternal Sonata is only 20-30 hours long. I'm 40 hours into Blue Dragon and it just keeps getting better. I also just bought Rogue Galaxy for PS2, a killer RPG that I overlooked when it came out in January. That one is supposed to be at least 50-70 hours long.

Iv'e also noticed some graphic glitches here and there but nothing really to make a big deal of. I also noticed when i have the energy sword equiped and i turn on the flashlight i noticed some slow down.

That's because the video game industry blows. I'm not too keen on the higher prices they think they are suddenly worth today for less substance. I question why everyone else puts up with it. It's not like they can't just fix stuff or give people what they want in this day and age, with content updates and things like that.

Just pirate the games and you won't have to worry about paying for them.

But the games suck. Why would I want to waste my time with them, free or not? ;)

There's a lot of people complaining on the Xbox forums that GOW looks better. For the most part, GOW IMHO looks a little sharper. But, i like these huge outdoor environmnets in H3. THe weapons in H3 could have looked a little better. But i love the sniper, just wish they could have littered some more ammo around for it in some spots.

It's not even close, Gears Of War looks WAY better in every aspect. That game is probably the best looking console game ever. The gameplay is awesome too with the way you actually have to take cover. It's a shame the single player mode is so damn short though, because I just can't really get into playing shooting games online. It just gets boring to me.

Yeah, I almost bought Blue Dragon, but I decided to go with ES on a whim. I'll have to track down a copy of BD when I'm finished with ES. I have to have my JRPG fix. :D

+1 that Gears looks way better to my eyes. I would say that Halo 3 is on track with something like Perfect Dark Zero graphics-wise. I'm the other way around--I don't usually finish single player shooters, but I'm all about the multi-player (although I have beat Gears, Halo, Halo 2, and I'm sure I will have Halo 3 done in the next few days).

Blue Dragon was made by Hironobu Sakaguchi (Final Fantasy), the music was done by Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy), and the character designs were done by Akira Toriyama (Dragonball Z). Definitely a killer game. :worship:

I'm so glad the 360 is finally getting some RPG's, since that's my favorite genre. Lost Odyssey, The Last Remnant, and Infinite Undiscovery all look incredible. I can't wait to play those games.

Totally agree. Three of my top five games ever are SquareSoft PSX era RPGs.

Hell yeah man. PS1 was the best RPG system ever IMO. Some people will argue that Super Nintendo was, but for me it's PS1 all the way. I still play a lot of old PS1 RPG's today, like FF7, FF8, Xenogears, Star Ocean 2, etc.
