So who here has completely switched to EB Cobalts?

I tried them when they came out. Felt n sounded lifeless so I went back to reg EBs. N that's that.

I've played them since they came out. Been jumping around a bit guage wise with the new axe, but overall the feel/tone from them seems much better. Love the extra output I get, and there does seem to be more midrange/top end, but without the loss of the bottom end.

actually, I put on a pair of 11-48's and they were too stiff on the new axe. only lasted 3 days before I said, gotta go lighter on the higher strings...so trying a pack of the 'hybrid' guages. 10-52's. Never minded heavier lower strings, but for soloing the 10's up top i've just gotten too used to. May end up still going down to the regular 10-48's.

I love the sound and feel but after using them for one year I realized they were eating my frets. Went back to Daddario or GHS, whatever is handy.

Really? Did you log any data to prove this. Not being critical at all......I just don't want this to happen on my guitars. I've had a lot more work this year and have played a lot more but have not noticed any issues with wear. I found that I was getting some odd fret gouges when I was using the titanium coated EB strings before these.

Still....have to keep an eye on these things.

No data logged, but there is a lot of wear on the first 3 frets or so. Fret gouging (like you said) is a better way to describe what happened. I'm sure my playing style and acidic sweat played a role as well.

Are they much different than Elixirs? After using EB Classic Rock N Roll pure nickel for ages I put Elixers on all my guitars. Not sure about them yet.

Wait a few months before you feel the need to change them and you might be more sure.

My hands eat regular strings and the Elixir's seem to be the only string I can use without them turning to a dead rusty mess within a week. The E's can stay on for months and other than the low strings getting a little fuzzy where I pick after a while, don't seem to change much at all on the tonal end of things.

I'm going to have to keep an eye on this one on my guitars. So far, nothing to note on any of mine. The problem I had was on my black J Custom that I sold last year. I found those Titanium strings were doing a number on the frets. Then again, it could just have been some weaker spec'd wire on that guitar. Strange.

I didn't like them as much as the regular 10-52 that I'm very use to

I have a set of the Titanium Slinkys on my ESP...been on there a long time, still pretty much sound the same...might have to try the Cobalts when I replace them.

Pretty much love me some Slinkys ever since I got my first guitar.

You guys who are eating through strings and rusting them quickly- if you wipe them down with something like Dunlop string cleaner/conditioner after you play play every time, they should last much longer. That stuff has made a very noticeable difference on my strings.
