Man, what a fuckin awesome album!!! I've been listening to it just about non-stop. Awesome riffs with very interesting and unexpected changes that keep me interested. Killer vocals and awesome solos. Production is great as well. I love every track on the disc.

Probably my second favorite album ever. Ridiculous guitar work and just killer songs. Old Soilwork stuff is very underrated. Classic Fredrik Nordstrom production. Peter used a custom Caparison Dellinger with an EMG85 into a 5150 and Ola used a custom Caparison Horus with an EMG81 into a solid state Peavey Transtube Supreme.

I would have never guessed a 5150.

Pretty much all of their albums are mainly 5150, as is almost everything that Nordstrom produces.

My second favorite, too. My favorite is still Steelbath.

I like Chainheart Machine and Steelbath the most. Steelbath's tone / songs are have this sort of raw / aggressive sound to them that you don't hear in any of the later albums.

Wichers wrote that whole album when he was 17. Just ridiculous. :worship:

Im going to have download this and give them another listen. I listened to a bunch of their stuff in the past and while I thought it was all decent, I wasnt close to being blown away or really impressed with any of it.

I think that predators portrait has the best riffs of any soilwork album but I think that the NBC has the best songs and production. The songs on NBC get caught in your head a lot, I think this has to do mainly with the vocals. The vocal melodies on that album are fantastic. IMO you cant go wrong with any soilwork album, while they are not the as good as I feel they used to be the 3 albums since NBC are all solid releases. The thing is when you have the back catalog they do its hard to top those older albums.
