I’ve had multiple RG100s and VH140Cs and IMO this is the best SS I’ve played, and a NO BRAINER for $460 new.

I looked at this pic and there are real decent sized power and output transformers in this amp, like the old RG100ES amps.

Yes it’s the real deal and ridiculously good, especially for $460.
The amp is actually very juicy with a great bounce and all the immediacy of a SS.
Gain 1 is upper mid forward, gain two scooped and next level aggressive. Both equally great and very different from each other. The contour function is very active and effective in shaping the tone from ultra scooped to very upper middy. Clean is very good as is the spring reverb.
There’s no good reason not to own this for a measly $460 new.

I don't know much about the circuit differences/similarities but I remember being pretty chuffed at the sounds from a Hiwatt (Maxwatt) G100 combo many years ago as that was the only amp available in a pinch in a practice space.
For a SS 'Hiwatt' budget sleeper amp it sounded darn loud and quite good.

Truthfully, it has the kerrang... I'd love to hear the balance of being super tight and flubby laxed a bit more to see if it makes it a little more balanced... Killer tone. I'd be chasing that if I heard it on an album in my formative years for sure.

Would be a phenomenal touring head being SS
