Some live shots from the '80s (step in for a laugh or two!)

You said you hate having the Seymour Duncan logo on their pickups, I guess I can see why now. :P :D

That's hilarious! Those are some killer pics. What a great time to be in the LA metal scene. The spandex, makeup, and hair is too much for me, but when in Rome....

I was in the following generation of metal players. Ripped jeans, concert Ts, engineer boots, and long, unkempt hair. You guys got more chicks.

Lookin good man!!!

You're kinda reminding me of Jake E Lee for some reason

'80's metal FTW

Convertibles?

Hey - if you'd a been playing live in the '80s, I'm sure you'd have worn worse! :D

Steve
Actually I went a different route; Either tight Jeans( really tight :o ) or tight leather pants, high tops and Shirtless with an open Vest. Loads of long bolo ties and way too many earrings on both ears...

For the times, you looked great

Hey sah5150,

What's the deal with that JCM?
It looks like it has 4 inputs and 4 knobs next to the inputs

Ok, so here's the deal. I actually had two Jose Arredondo modded Marshals - one plexi and one JCM 800, at different times. What you see next to the 4 normal inputs on the JCM 800 in the pics are two additional inputs Jose added (high/low sensitivity) and two knobs controlling the gain for each of those inputs. You could still use the old inputs, but that bypassed the additional gain stages Jose added. The amp also had a push/pull master volume that cut the power in half when pulled. The amp also had an active effects loop that I had added by Lee Jackson at Metaltronix since Jose didn't do active effects loops... Killer sounding amp. I also have a Roland SDE-3000 delay, and EQ and a HUSH 2C in that rack... good sounding 80's rig for sure...

that guitar is so freakin badass. Its a Holy Grail of San Dimas Charvels. Worth a small mint today. Jack Daniels Charvels are legendary. No cooler guitar for that time IMO. I wore spandex zebra pants my wife wont let me forget about that!

I want to hear more about that Marshall also. I assume its also long gone? Bet it was a ripper!

Yeah, man I wish I still had that guitar. Very cool graphic.

I answered the amp question above and yeah, it is gone too...

Ive been trying to dig them up Steve but I fear that Ive lost them along the way some where , some how... I had some crazy long and thick hair back then!!!! I hate to admit it but I kinda liked the way I looked and dressing up for gigs or going out clubbin...

Those were friggin cool times... As cool as it was for me here on the East Coast, It really cant compare to your experience, you were in the thick of it and I cant imagine it being any cooler or better from you perspective... Lets face it, you lived the life that all of non californians dreamed about back then...
