Sometimes I listen to Sykes and wonder what would have happened if he had joined Ozzy after leaving Whitesnake, instead of Ozzy getting Zakk (no dis-respect to Zakk intended). Would this Blue Murder be his modded Marshalls or Boogies?

Sykes is a huge disappointment for me. How can someone so talented produce so little. It's a shame. :aww:

Last I heard, he's supposed to have a new album coming out this year?

Loved the first Blue Murder album. I wore out that tape(LOL) back in 1990....definitely would have been interesting had he played with Ozzy...

Agreed, but i love his singing as well.

One of the few chosen that can play his ass off and still sing like a mofo.

I thought he was using Jose modded Marshalls back in this era, but honestly, I find it really hard to tell with Sykes. I've seen him play a whole bunch of different amps live and he always sounds pretty much the same - like John Sykes. I ran into him a few times at Jose's shop back in '89 (I think - it's been a long time). He had several Marshalls there along with Bruce Bouillet and others.

Mmmmm... always love me some Sykes. Whether with Lizzy, Murder, or Whitesnake. Awesome player and great vocalist. I love to drop my E to D and jam some "Blue Murder" and "Valley of the Kings". Named my cat "Billy" after that bitchin tune.
